Vehicle front structure
A vehicle front structure includes a dash upper panel and a grille top face portion having outside air introduction holes taking in outside air. The vehicle front structure includes a cover member covering an engine from a vehicle upper side and having a top plate rear portion opposed to the grille top face portion on a vehicle lower side throughout a predetermined range, including the outside air introduction holes, in a vehicle width direction, and a grille front face portion disposed from the grille top face portion to the top plate rear portion on a vehicle front side of the outside air introduction holes. The top plate rear portion has a shape having inclined surfaces extending from a vehicle lower side of the outside air introduction holes in the vehicle width direction, the inclined surfaces being gradually inclined to the vehicle lower side toward vehicle-width-direction outer sides.
Indoor maintenance cover of bus
An indoor maintenance cover of a bus includes: a frame mounted on a maintenance hole; a first door and a second door in which respective both ends are connected to the frame by a hinge pin to open/close the maintenance hole; an interlocking device configured to join a hinge pin connected to one end of the first door and a hinge pin connected to one end of the second door, the interlocking device facing the hinge pin so that the first door and the second door rotate while interlocking with each other; and a fastener fastening the first door and the second door while the first door and the second door are closed. The maintenance cover can be installed to prevent accidents while increasing operability for easily opening or closing the maintenance hole in the bus.
Energy absorbing member beneath vehicle hood
In at least some implementations, an energy absorbing member for a vehicle includes an engine cover adapted to be mounted beneath a vehicle hood and to overlie at least part of an engine, and an upper member coupled to the engine cover. The upper member is cantilevered to the engine cover wherein the upper member has a base coupled to the engine cover and a free end spaced from the base, and the upper member is flexible and a first portion of the upper member spaced from the base and including the free end is movable relative to the base.
Tunable energy absorber
An energy absorber for interposition between a cover and a covered object includes a generally planar matrix of cells. Each of the cells includes a plurality of generally elongate micro-elements interconnected to form a cell micro-structure, with each cell having a respective energy absorption capacity such that an energy absorption capacity of the energy absorber varies across at least one direction. The cells are configured such that impulse of an object with the cover with the energy absorber sandwiched between the cover and the covered object causes a deceleration vs. time response in the object, beginning with a generally linear rise in the deceleration to a peak deceleration within 5 ms after the beginning of the impulse event, followed by a generally nonlinear decrease in the deceleration over a period of not greater than 15 ms to a final target deceleration of not greater than 10% of the peak deceleration.
Vehicle front structure
Provided is a vehicle front structure capable of, without breaking a lid provided at a thermal insulating cover, reliably closing a bonnet and the lid even if an attempt is made to close the bonnet prior to closing the lid. In the present invention, a thermal insulating cover 10 including a lid 30 that covers the upper side of an engine in an openable and closable manner is provided below a bonnet 1 that covers the upper side of an engine room in an openable and closable manner; the lid 30 is provided with, in the vehicle front-rear direction, a hinge fulcrum 36 on the same rear end side as a hinge fulcrum 4 of the bonnet 1 and is openable and closable independently of the bonnet 1; and the lid 30 includes locking means 40 that is locked to the bonnet 1 when the lid 30 is open and is released from the locking in conjunction with a closing operation of the bonnet 1.

TRACTOR
A tractor includes: a vehicle body; an engine bonnet that forms an engine compartment; an engine disposed in the engine compartment; a first exhaust-gas cleaning device that is disposed in the engine compartment and purifies exhaust gas discharged by the engine; and a second exhaust-gas cleaning device that is disposed in the engine compartment and purifies the exhaust gas, the first exhaust-gas cleaning device being disposed above the engine such that a long side of the first exhaust-gas cleaning device is substantially parallel to a vehicle-body lateral width direction, the second exhaust-gas cleaning device being disposed behind the engine such that a long side of the second exhaust-gas cleaning device is substantially parallel to the vehicle-body lateral width orientation, and a maximum vertical length of the first exhaust-gas cleaning device is shorter than a maximum longitudinal length of the first exhaust-gas cleaning device.
