VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body structure includes: a first frame that is formed of a first material and has a closed cross section; and a second frame that is formed of a second material and has a closed cross section. The first frame and the second frame are aligned with each other in a vehicle longitudinal direction. The second frame has higher tensile strength and is lighter than the first frame. In a front cross-sectional view of the vehicle, a second center associated with the second frame is located on an outer side in a vehicle width direction from a first center associated with the first frame with respect to vehicle center.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body structure includes: a pair of roof side rails, each of which constitutes at least one each of closed cross sections and extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction; and a roof panel that is stretched between the pair of roof side rails and extends in a vehicle width direction. The roof panel has: a body section that extends in the vehicle width direction; and a flange section that is provided to both end portions in the vehicle width direction of the body section and extends in the vehicle width direction along a lower surface of the closed cross section. The flange section is fixed to a lower surface of the closed cross section.
Systems and methods for joining nodes and other structures
An additively manufactured node is disclosed. A node is an additively manufactured (AM) structure that includes a feature, e.g., a socket, a channel, etc., for accepting another structure, e.g., a tube, a panel, etc. The node can include a node surface of a receptacle extending into the node. The receptacle can receive a structure, and a seal interface on the node surface can seat a seal member between the node surface and the structure to create an adhesive region between the node and the structure, the adhesive region being bounded by the node surface, the structure, and the seal member. The node can also include two channels connecting an exterior surface of the node to the adhesive region. In this way, adhesive can be injected into the adhesive region between the node and the structure, and the adhesive can be contained by the seal member.
Vehicle body lower part structure
A vehicle body lower part structure includes: a floor panel; and a vehicle body frame member including a frame body, an inner side wall, a joint flange projecting inward in a vehicle width direction from an inner surface of the inner side wall in the vehicle width direction, and having a joining surface on which an end of the floor panel in the vehicle width direction is stacked and to which the end of the floor panel in the vehicle width direction is joined, and a recess provided to the frame body, recessed outward in the vehicle width direction from the inner surface of the inner side wall in the vehicle width direction, and having a surface that is continuous and flush with the joining surface of the joint flange.
Hybrid cast vehicle assembly with structural reinforcements
A hybrid structural assembly for a motor vehicle includes a casting and a structural inlay. The casting includes a plurality of structural components joined together in a casting process to form structural load paths and extending in a plurality of directions in a 3D space. The casting includes a cast-allowable alloy material. The structural inlay is secured to at least one of the structural components. The structural inlay includes a material having at least one of a higher ductility and a higher toughness than the cast-allowable alloy material.
Chassis for a vehicle
The present disclosure relates to a chassis (300) for a vehicle, the chassis (300) comprising a plurality of sandwich plate elements (100) and a plurality of connection elements (200), wherein the sandwich plate elements (100) each comprise a plate core (150) and a first and second plate skin (110, 120) and wherein each connection element (200) comprises two or more recesses (210, 220), each recess (210, 220) being adapted to receive an edge portion (160) of one of the plurality of sandwich plate elements (100) such that at least a portion of the sandwich plate element (100) interacts with the recess (210, 220), thereby connecting said plurality of sandwich plate elements (100) to form said chassis (300). The disclosure also relates to a vehicle comprising a chassis (300), a method for forming a chassis (300) and a kit of parts for assembling a chassis (300).
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BODY COMPONENT OF A VEHICLE BODY OF A VEHICLE, AND BODY COMPONENT AND VEHICLE BODY
The present invention relates to a method for producing a body component (1) of a vehicle body (21) of a vehicle (20), wherein the method has the steps of: (a) providing a structural part (2) of the body component (1) provided with adhesive film (4), wherein the adhesive film (4) is applied to at least one adhesive surface (6) of the structural part (2), (b) providing a further part (3) of the body component (1), (c) applying an adhesive (5) to the adhesive film (4), and (d) adhesively bonding the structural part (2) provided with adhesive film (4) to the further part (3) by means of the adhesive (5) applied to the adhesive film (4), so that the body component (1) is obtained as the structural part (2) adhesively bonded to the further part (3) and provided with adhesive film (4).
The invention further relates to a body component (1) of a vehicle body (21) of a vehicle (20), as well as to a vehicle body (21) of a vehicle (20) having at least one such body component (1).
Vehicle battery with adhesive connections
A vehicle includes a vehicle body provided with each of a pair of rockers on each side of a floor panel in a right-left direction, a battery pack that stores electric power to be supplied to a traction motor, and a pair of fixing members that fixes the battery pack to the rockers. The battery pack and the fixing members are joined by a plurality of adhesion members. The adhesion members are intermittently laid out along a vehicle length direction of the vehicle.
COUPLING STRUCTURE OF REAR END MODULE AND SIDE MEMBER
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a coupling structure of a rear end module and a side member, in which the rear end module is coupled to a roof side member or a middle member located on a side surface of a vehicle body on a rear end of a vehicle.
A coupling structure of a rear end module and a side member according to embodiments of the present disclosure includes side members extending toward the rear of a vehicle from a C-pillar member, and a rear end module formed by injection to have an annular shape and coupled to rear ends of the side members.
