20220388575 · 2022-12-08 · ·

A front bolster and frame connection system for an intermodal chassis including a front bolster, a front gooseneck frame extending from the intermodal chassis having beams, mounting tabs attached to the front bolster, mounting tabs attached to the front gooseneck frame, a front gooseneck frame mounting plate welded to the end of the front end of the front gooseneck frame, and angle braces attached to the mounting tabs. The angle braces connect the bolt on front bolster and the front gooseneck frame. A retrofit kit and an alternate embodiment are also provided. The bolt on front bolster design of the present invention requires minimal cutting or grinding to remove and minimal welding to replace. The bolt on front bolster adds considerable value to operators in the intermodal market by facilitating service and eliminating chronic issues.

A front end module assembly has a front end module structure of a vehicle, a heat exchanger support and a first heat exchanger unit. The heat exchanger support is supported to the vehicle front end module structure. The heat exchanger support has an opening. The first heat exchanger unit is accommodated in the opening of the heat exchanger support so that the transmission cooler is supported to the vehicle front end module structure via the heat exchanger support.

Vehicle body joint structure

An embodiment vehicle body coupling structure of a vehicle that includes an underbody and an upper body coupled to the underbody includes a front back beam assembly provided on a front side of the underbody, a first mounting part provided on a front side member of the upper body and coupled with the front back beam assembly, and a first body coupling part provided on the front back beam assembly and engaged with the first mounting part.

GALVANIC CORROSION RESISTANT FASTENER

A fastening assembly includes: a panel defining an aperture; a fastener having a cap and a shaft extending from the cap, the shaft being disposed through the aperture, the fastener having a first corrosion rate, and the fastener including: a recess formed in the cap and extending at least partially around the shaft; face surfaces that are planar and that are to directly contact the panel; and recessed channels that are disposed between the face surfaces, respectively, that are recessed relative to the face surfaces, and that extend from a radially outer edge of the cap to the recess; and an anode insert disposed in the recess and having a second corrosion rate that is faster than the first corrosion rate.

Vehicle

A vehicle shown herein is a side by side powersports vehicle having a utility bed recessed in the rear body portion below an upper surface, the utility bed forming a stepped portion relative to the rear body portion and having a maximum lateral width greater than a diameter of at least one of the wheels, and a minimum width less than a diameter of at least one of the wheels, whereby a spare wheel may be stored on the stepped portion of the utility bed. As shown herein, the utility bed is defined as a removable tub, which can be removed from the rear body portion. The utility bed has defined troughs in a floor thereof angled rearwardly wherein the utility bed has drains which drain away from any heat source of the vehicle. The seats of the vehicle allow longitudinal movement and tilt capability.

A cross car beam assembly for use with a vehicle may include a beam having first and second portions that are spaced apart from each other in a lateral direction when the cross car beam assembly is mounted in the vehicle. The cross car beam assembly further includes a safety unit connected to the first and second portions so that the safety unit extends between the first and second portions. The safety unit includes a rigid member configured to cooperate with the first and second portions to provide continuous rigid structure from the first portion to the second portion. Furthermore, the rigid member is connected to at least one of the first and second portions with at least one integral connection feature that braces the rigid member in a longitudinal direction or a lateral direction of the vehicle when the cross car beam assembly is mounted to the vehicle.

METHOD TO REDUCED LATERAL DEFLECTION OF LONGITUDINAL MEMBERS IN SIDE IMPACT

A support plate and reinforcement member may be mounted within a hollow side sill between a rocker and crossmembers for a vehicle framework. The support plate may include flanges along either edge and a straight, projecting face between the flanges. The reinforcement member, mounted on the support plate proximate to an outer surface of the side sill, may include flanges along either edge and a wavy projecting face between the flanges. Contact portions of the projecting face for the reinforcement member may contact an interior of the side sill at regions aligned with where the side sill mounts to the crossmembers, with intervening portions of the projecting face, in areas adjacent energy absorbing crush cans, extending less far from the flanges. The intervening portions may also be laterally offset from the contact portions, to provide larger weld areas.

Radiator support assembly

A radiator support assembly may include a radiator support upper member including an upper internal surface, a radiator support side member including a side internal surface and provided in pairs, and a radiator support lower member including a lower internal surface, wherein the radiator support upper member, the radiator support side member and the radiator support lower member are joined so that the upper internal surface, the side internal surface and the lower internal surface form a single closed-loop.

Exhaust gas turbocharger assembly having an exhaust gas turbocharger and an actuator
11486296 · 2022-11-01 · ·

An exhaust gas turbocharger assembly includes a turbocharger, an actuator, and a bolted connection for releasably securing the actuator housing on a housing flange of the turbocharger housing. The bolted connection includes a through opening, an aperture bounded at the circumference by an internal thread made of a metal, and a fit bolt with a bolt body which merges axially into a bolt head. The bolt body has a first axial body section with an external thread formed in a manner complementary to the internal thread of the aperture, and a second axial body section arranged axially between the bolt head and the first body section. The fit bolt engages through the through opening of the actuator housing in the internal thread of the aperture with the external thread to clamp the actuator housing between the housing flange of the turbocharger housing and the bolt head of the fit bolt.
