VEHICLE BODY SIDE STRUCTURE
A plurality of metallic bulkheads fixed at predetermined intervals inside a side sill includes a partition wall portion partitioning an inner space of the side sill and a bonding flange portion formed to surround an outer periphery of the partition wall portion and bonded to an inner surface of the side sill and has an I-shaped cross-section. The partition wall portion of one bulkhead fixed to an upper curved portion is disposed to be substantially parallel to a radial direction passing through a curved center of the upper curved portion such that the partition wall portion is propped to prevent the upper curved portion from being crushed when a collision load in a front and rear direction is input to a pillar portion of the side sill to prevent the collapse deformation of the pillar portion.
Geometric/mechanical isolation of aluminum to steel joining at trim edges for corrosion protection
A joint for a motor vehicle body comprises a first structural member fabricated from aluminum attached to a second structural member fabricated from steel. The second structural member has an adjoining portion that is in substantially juxtaposed abutting relation with the first structural member when the second structural member is attached to the first structural member. The second structural member has a ramp portion terminating in a bare exposed edge on the second structural member and upon which the bare exposed edge is disposed. The bare exposed edge is displaced from the first structural member to form a gap between the first structural member and the bare exposed edge to prevent corrosion of the bare exposed edge without the use of adhesives and sealants.
Vehicle body with battery connected thereto
Disclosed herein is a vehicle body with a battery connected thereto including a lower panel of a vehicle which extends in a horizontal direction, and to which a battery case in which a battery is provided in an upper portion or a lower portion is coupled, a seat cross member configured to extend in a direction parallel to a transverse direction of the vehicle and located on an upper surface or a lower surface of the lower panel, a battery cross member provided in the battery case, configured to extend in the direction parallel to the transverse direction of the vehicle, and located to correspond to the seat cross member in a vertical direction of the vehicle, and a coupling device configured to simultaneously pass through to couple the lower panel, the seat cross member, and the battery cross member in the vertical direction of the vehicle.
Vehicle front end assembly
A vehicle frame structure has a front side member that extends forward from a dashwall. An engine cradle is attached to the front side member with a lateral side portion of the engine cradle being located beneath and spaced apart from a lower surface of the front side member. An engine is installed to the engine cradle with a portion of the engine extending upward from the engine cradle adjacent to the inboard surface of the front side member. An inboard push structure has an inboard surface, an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion is attached to an inboard surface of the front side member. The lower portion extends downward below a lower surface of the front side member. The inboard surface faces the engine proximate the lateral portion of the lateral side portion of the engine cradle.
Vehicle body apparatus and system including a rocker insert
An apparatus for a vehicle body including a rocker insert is provided. The apparatus includes a vehicle body including a plurality of metallic structure members and a lower portion operable to provide support to a floor surface within a passenger compartment of a vehicle and a rocker insert mounted to an in-vehicle side portion of the lower portion. The rocker insert includes an elongated bar portion including a hollow center portion including internal reinforcing web features. The rocker insert is oriented with respect to the vehicle body such that a longitudinal axis of the elongated bar portion of the rocker insert is parallel to an in-vehicle forward direction of the vehicle body.
Arrangement for Holding a Sidewall Element on a Bodyshell Part of a Vehicle, Bracket and Vehicle
An arrangement for holding a sidewall element on a bodyshell part of a bodyshell for a vehicle, in which arrangement the sidewall element is held on the bodyshell part by way of a bracket which is formed separately from the bodyshell part and separately from the sidewall element. The bracket is connected to the bodyshell part and to the sidewall element, wherein the bracket has a first retaining element connected to the bodyshell part and a second retaining element, which is connected to the sidewall element and is formed separately from the first retaining element and is connected to the first retaining element.
Rear Vehicle Body Connection Structure
An embodiment is a vehicle body including a vehicle body skeleton including a tail gate frame and a rear side member connected to a lower portion of the tail gate frame, a chassis frame including a longitudinal frame disposed in the length direction of the vehicle body, and a vehicle body rear connection structure configured to connect the vehicle body skeleton and the chassis frame, wherein the longitudinal frame is connected to an intersecting position of the lower portion of the tail gate frame and the rear side member.
Vehicle body
A vehicle body includes a plurality of shock absorber housings each covering and supporting a respective shock absorber that is configured to be connected to a respective wheel of a vehicle, a pillar member having a first end connected to one of the shock absorber housings to form a corner, wherein the pillar member connects two of the plurality of shock absorber housings to form a portion of a cabin of the vehicle, wherein the two of the plurality of shock absorber housings are disposed at a side of the vehicle at a front portion and a rear portion of the vehicle, and a supporting member disposed at the corner of the shock absorber housing, an upper end of the supporting member being coupled to the pillar member and a lower end of the supporting member being coupled to the shock absorber housing.
Vehicle Lower Body
An embodiment vehicle lower body includes a front lower body and a rear lower body spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction, each including multiple pipes and having wheels and a suspension mounted thereto, a pair of lower body main members each having a pipe shape and spaced apart from each other in a lateral direction, the pair of lower body main members connecting upper end sides of the front lower body and the rear lower body and extending in the longitudinal direction to define upper side members of the front lower body and the rear lower body, and a pair of lower body floor members each having a pipe shape and spaced apart from each other in the lateral direction, the pair of lower body floor members connecting lower end sides of the front lower body and the rear lower body.
