REINFORCING BEAM FOR A VEHICLE

The invention relates to a reinforcing beam for a vehicle, adapted to constitute at least a portion of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning assembly. It includes at least one air inlet, at least one air outlet and an air channel in-between. The reinforcing beam includes also a primary insert and a plastic body, the primary insert and the plastic body being connected with one another.

Insert with integrated fastener

A method for locally reinforcing or baffling a structure having a hollow cavity is disclosed. The present invention provides an insert that includes a carrier, a thermally expandable material located on at least a portion of the carrier, and at least one integrally formed attachment that projects outwardly from the carrier. The inserts of the present invention are preferably placed within a hollow cavity in a transverse direction so that once the insert is sealed into place via the thermally expandable material, the hollow cavity is separated into two separate chambers.

OVERMOLDED BRACKETS FOR COMPOSITE SHOCK TOWER

A method of making a shock tower assembly includes forming a bracket from continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic, where the bracket has a load bearing portion and an overmolded portion. The method further includes placing the bracket in an injection tool, injecting a polymer composite material into the injection tool to surround the and overmolded portion of the bracket, and removing a finished component from the injection tool, wherein the finished component comprises the load bearing portion of the bracket extending outwardly from the finished component and the overmolded portion of the bracket that is surrounded by the polymer composite material.

INTEGRATED COMPOSITE HYBRID SHOCK TOWER

A shock tower assembly includes a shock tower body comprised of a polymer composite material, at least one reinforcement member integrated into the shock tower body, and a wheel cover comprised of the polymer composite material and integrated into the shock tower body to form a single-piece component.

Adjustable hood-stop for a motor vehicle

An adjustable hood-stop unit for a front-end bolster of a motor vehicle is disclosed. The adjustable hood-stop includes a bumper stop, a retainer made of a plastic material that receives the bumper stop, and a plurality of threads integrated along an internal surface of the retainer. The retainer is over-molded onto a hole in the front-end bolster, the plurality of threads extend on a partial length of the internal surface of the retainer at a predetermined rotation degree, and the plurality of threads are discontinued.

A motor vehicle has a self-supporting body which has a passenger compartment, with two longitudinal members, with two rear reinforcing struts which run in a V-shaped manner and are fastened at the front ends thereof to lateral longitudinal member portions of the two longitudinal members. The lateral longitudinal portions run below the passenger compartment. The two reinforcing struts are arranged at the rear ends thereof on a receiving component. The receiving component is a plastics/metal hybrid component which is composed of an open, shell-shaped metal component and of a fiber-reinforced reinforcing plastics component. The plastics component is integrated in the metal component and reinforces the metal component.

Composite structure and manufacturing method therefor

A composite structural body (A) includes a first metal member (M1) having a plate-like shape, a second metal member (M2) having a plate-like shape, and a resin member (R) that integrates the first metal member (M1) and the second metal member (M2) with each other. The resin member (R) includes a first resin layer (R1) that coats astride one main surface of the first metal member (M1) and one main surface of the second metal member (M2), and a second resin layer (R2) that coats astride another main surface of the first metal member (M1) and another main surface of the second metal member (M2). The composite structural body (A) is provided as a composite structural body that has satisfactory moldability, that is capable of securing sufficient strength, and that is suitable as a component of a structure such as a vehicle body.

VEHICLE PANEL STRUCTURE

A vehicle panel structure has: a sheet-like outer panel member; an inner member disposed to face an inner surface of the outer panel member; and a resin member of which a material is a resin and which is joined to the inner surface of the outer panel member, and at least part of the inner member is buried in the resin member.

Vehicle coupling

A vehicle coupling, and a method for the manufacture thereof, having a coupling body (1) and at least one structural element (2) placed thereon wherein the structural element (2) is force fit to the coupling body (1) using a bulk plastic material (3).
