ROOF MODULE WITH SENSOR SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE WHICH TRAVELS AUTONOMOUSLY OR PARTIALLY AUTONOMOUSLY, COMPRISING A ROOF OPENING SYSTEM AND/OR A FIXED ROOF ELEMENT
A roof module for a motor vehicle may have a roof skin, a roof frame on a vehicle body and have at least one transverse frame part extending in the transverse roof direction and a longitudinal frame part extending in the longitudinal roof direction on either side of a longitudinal center roof plane, and a roof opening system having a lid element configured to be displaced on guide rails, which are part of the longitudinal frame parts of the roof frame, in the longitudinal roof direction relative to the roof frame, and/or a solid roof element having a transparent see-through portion and being rigidly connected to the roof frame, having a sensor system comprising at least one sensor module which has at least one environmental sensor and is located outside of the roof opening and/or outside of the transparent see-through portions and is covered by a cover element.
VEHICLE ROOF STRUCTURE
A vehicle roof structure is provided capable of maintaining side collision performance of a vehicle even without a roof reinforcing member. The vehicle roof structure includes an annular frame that is joined to a circumferential edge of a roof panel (which includes an outer panel and an inner panel), and supports the roof panel. The annular frame has a higher rigidity than the roof panel, is arranged in an opening of a roof, and is joined to a pair of roof side rails, a front header, and a rear header.
THERMOPLASTIC HARDTOP ROOF
The present invention is directed to a hardtop for a vehicle that has an exterior thermoplastic roof panel and sides. The hardtop includes a top frame formed of at least two longitudinal sides and at least one cross vehicle piece formed from fiber reinforced polymer. Connected to the top frame is at least one roof panel forming an outer surface of the hardtop. There are also one or more side frames each having a side panel connected thereto. The roof panel and side panel are all formed of thermoplastic, so it is possible to have a Class A finish paint surface or mold in color finish.
Vehicle Roof Comprising a Painted Rigid Roof Module
A vehicle roof comprising a base structure and a rigid roof panel which is attached to the base structure and which is a composite component having at least one structural layer, which is a fiber matrix layer, and a design paint, which forms a visible surface on an outer side of the structural layer, the composite component having a machining edge provided with a sealing paint covered by the design paint.
Low-profile slide rail assembly with embedded or laminated hardpoint connectors
A cargo vehicle is disclosed having a composite floor assembly with at least one embedded or laminated hardpoint connector. The composite floor assembly may comprise a plurality of transverse beams, wherein a subset of the plurality of transverse beams includes at least one embedded hardpoint connector. The composite floor assembly may comprise a plurality of transverse beams, wherein at least one hardpoint connector is laminated across a subset of the plurality of transverse beams. The embedded or laminated connector may be used to securely and removably couple other vehicle components to the composite floor assembly, such as a landing gear assembly and/or a slide rail assembly.
Vehicle Glass Pane with Edge Protection
A glass pane which covers a surface region of a vehicle roof and has an edge protection at a pane edge of the glass pane. The edge protection can be formed by an edge protection strip which covers the glass pane at its pane edge, and a vehicle roof) having such a glass pane, the glass pane being adhesively bonded to a support surface of a roof component of the vehicle roof so as to form a gap between the glass pane and the support surface and the edge protection strip being arranged so as to be contact-free with respect to the support surface and/or contact-free with respect to the adhesive bond of the glass pane to the support surface.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURAL MEMBER
A vehicle body structural member is formed from a fiber-reinforced resin composite. The vehicle body structural member includes a break scheduled part. The break scheduled part is provided on a load input surface to which a collision load is expected to be input. The break scheduled part is configured to, when the collision load is input, undergo a brittle fracture and divide the load input surface into a first region and a second region on both sides respectively in a predetermined first direction. When the collision load is input, a torsion is generated in each of the first region and the second region across the break scheduled part have torsions.
Tonneau Covers
A tonneau cover that includes a cover that selectively shrouds at least a portion of a cargo box opening is provided. The cover includes at least one panel section configured to extend over the cargo box opening. The at least one panel section is movable with respect to the cargo box opening. The at least one panel section also includes a generally planar body. At least a portion of the generally planar body of the at least one panel section is composed of a material that allows light to pass through at least this portion of the generally planar body.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING COMPONENTS IN AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
According to one aspect, a vehicle includes a chassis, a propulsion system carried on the chassis, a control system carried on the chassis, and a components arrangement carried on the chassis. The propulsion system configured to propel the vehicle, and the control system is configured to enable the vehicle to operate autonomously. The components arrangement includes at least a frame, a panel having a surface, a wiper arrangement having at least one wiper, and a fluid distribution arrangement. The frame is configured to interface with the chassis and to support the panel, the wiper arrangement, and the fluid distribution arrangement. The fluid distribution arrangement is configured to dispense a fluid onto the surface and the wiper is configured to sweep over the surface.
VEHICLE BODY PILLAR STRUCTURE AND VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body pillar structure includes a cylindrical member and an outer layer member. The cylindrical member is formed from a carbon fiber-reinforced resin. The outer layer member is provided on an outer circumference of the cylindrical member and is formed from a carbon fiber-reinforced resin. The outer layer member includes a recessed groove provided on a surface of the outer layer member closer to the cylindrical member, recessed in a direction away from the cylindrical member, and extending along an axial direction of the cylindrical member. A fiber-reinforced resin is disposed in the recessed groove. The fiber-reinforced resin contains continuous fibers wound around pin members provided on both axial sides of the recessed groove and is oriented along the axial direction of the cylindrical member.
