A motor vehicle body for light weight construction comprises at least a bottom unit, a roof and side units (3), which are assembled to form at least part of the motor vehicle body. At least the side units include an inner shell element (3a) and an outer shell element (3g) made of injection molded plastics material and are attached to each other by attachment areas (4) to form a torsion stiff box structure. The inner and/or outer shell element may comprise a strut structure (5) extending from an inner shell element surface in between the shell elements towards the opposing shell element to realize the torsion stiff box structure.

An article manufactured in a mould and which comprises a structural composite of plastics layers, the article having a wall defining an internal space for holding contents therein; wherein, the wall is formed from at least two layers of plastics materials; wherein a first of said layers comprises a thermoplastics material and at least a second layer comprises a thermosetting resin and a fibrous layer.

A method for producing a node structure includes providing at least two pre-manufactured profile components having respective profile ends provided with corresponding abutment surfaces; positioning the profile ends in a pressing tool so that a homogenous gap is formed between the abutment surfaces; performing a pressing process in the presence of a fiber-containing plastic mass in the pressing tool for generating a connecting node that form fittingly connects the profile ends, wherein the fiber containing plastic mass also enters into the gap.

A frame structure for a motor vehicle body includes at least two profile components and a connecting node, which connects the profile components with each other. At least one of the profile components has at least one console which is made of fiber reinforced plastic and on which other components can be fastened or supported.

A grille carrier for at least partially supporting a vehicle grille during installation is provided. The grille carrier includes a base, first and second walls extending from the base, and a top having an upper surface. The top is supported by a U-shaped support forming part of a stem attached to and extending from the base. The upper surface of the top includes a pair of projections for at least partially supporting the grille during installation. The projections are positioned at different distances away from a centerline each include a base and a head. The base is formed of four walls which are perpendicular to one another in one embodiment, and the head covers the base and forms a lip around its periphery. The lip prevents the partially supported grille from coming off during installation.

A rear floor arrangement structure for a vehicle is provided. The rear floor arrangement structure includes a bottom part and a cross part that extends in a width direction of a vehicle body from one side of the bottom part. Additionally, a collision dispersion member is disposed at the bottom part and the cross part and the collision dispersion member extends along a collision direction of the vehicle body.

A lower cross member for a vehicle is disposed on a floor of a vehicle. The lower cross member includes a core member and a reinforcing layer. The core member is made of a composite material containing 70 wt. % or more of unidirectional carbon fibers, and the reinforcing layer is made of a composite material containing 70 wt. % or more of fiberglass.

A vehicle chassis is provided. The vehicle chassis may comprise one or more vehicle chassis modules or chassis substructures that are formed from a plurality of customized chassis nodes and connecting tubes. The customized chassis nodes and connecting tubes may be formed of one or more metal and/or non-metal materials. The customized chassis nodes may be formed with connecting features to which additional vehicle panels or structures may be permanently or removeably attached. The vehicle chassis modules or chassis substructures may be interchangeably and removeably connected to provide a vehicle chassis having a set of predetermined chassis safety or performance characteristics.

This provides a vehicle body structure including: a lower panel made of resin, which has a lower wall that forms a lower portion of a floor portion, an outer front wall that is placed to extend from a vehicle body front end of the lower wall to an upper direction of a vehicle body, and an outer back wall that is placed to extend from a vehicle body backside end of the lower wall to the upper direction of the vehicle body; and an upper panel made of resin, which has upper walls that form an upper portion of the floor portion opposite to the lower wall, an inner front wall that is placed to extend from the vehicle body front ends of the upper walls to the upper direction of the vehicle body and joined to the outer front wall and consequently forms a closed cross-section shape that extends in a vehicle width direction while including both of left and right ends at an upper portion of the outer front wall, and an inner back wall that is placed to extend from the vehicle body backside ends of the upper walls and to the upper direction of the vehicle body and joined to the outer back wall and consequently forms a closed cross-section shape that extends in the vehicle width direction while including both of left and right ends at an upper portion of the outer back wall.

The invention relates to a surface element, in particular a wall element, for a camping vehicle or a mobile home, in particular caravans, motorhomes, etc., as well as a method for its production.
