VEHICLE COOLER WITH PASSENGER CABIN ACCESS
A vehicle assembly is provided that affords multiple access points to a cold-storage container. The vehicle assembly includes a vehicle having a passenger cabin and a cargo area adjacent the passenger cabin. A cold-storage container is disposed in the cargo area and includes a first opening providing access from the cargo area to an interior of the cold-storage container, and a second opening providing access from the passenger cabin into the interior. In various aspects, the vehicle may be a pickup truck, where the cold-storage container is located in a cargo bed. A header portion of the cargo bed can include an access door configured to selectively provide a passageway between the cargo bed and the interior of the passenger cabin. The passenger cabin may include an access panel that selectively provides entry to the passageway and into the cold-storage container.
Thermally Insulated Structures and Method for Fabricating Same
Thermal insulated structures such as walls, ceilings and floors are produced for use in thermo-insulated cargo vans, box trucks, trailers, and other vehicles and compartments. A frame is built a frame in an area, and polyurethane foam insulation is sprayed onto the frame. The polyurethane foam insulation is cut, and then covered with polypropylene panels. The polypropylene panels are secured to the frame, and seams between the polypropylene panels are welded together. Plates are optionally secured to the edges of the panels.
JOINT BETWEEN SIDEWALL AND ROOF PANEL OF TRAILER
A trailer includes a vertically-oriented sidewall, a horizontally-oriented roof panel disposed above the sidewall, and a top rail attached to the sidewall. At least a section of the top rail is disposed above the sidewall and below the roof panel. A substantially L-shaped cove has a horizontal leg attached to a lower surface of the roof panel, and a vertical leg attached to an inner surface of the sidewall. A board of thermal insulation includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion is disposed between the vertical leg of the cove and the section of the top rail, and the lower portion is disposed between the vertical leg of the cove and the sidewall.
COMPOSITE STRUCTURES WITH EMBEDDED VEILS FOR ANCHORING FASTENERS
A composite structure of a cargo body and a method of making the same are disclosed. The composite structure includes at least one anchor embedded between fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) layers. The embedded anchor includes a porous veil of nonwoven fibers in a polymer-rich matrix. Accessories may be coupled to the composite structure by anchoring mechanical fasteners into the embedded anchor.
INSULATING CONTAINER, TRANSPORTATION DEVICE AND TRANSPORTATION METHOD
An insulating container comprises a container body and a container cover connected to the container body. The container body and the container cover each comprises a frame and a plate arranged on the frame. The plate comprises, from inside out, an external high strength sheet, an extruded polystyrene sheet, phase-change insulating sheets made of phase-change material, and an internal sheet. A phase-change process of the phase-change insulating sheets cooperates with a refrigeration system of the transportation device to precisely control the temperature of the insulating container and a refrigerator truck to be near a phase-change temperature. In the present disclosure, the phase-change insulating sheets made of the phase-change material remain to be in a solid state before or after occurrence of a phase change, so that the structure of the insulating container does not change with the phase change and a leakage problem of the phase-change material does not exist.
REFRIGERATED TRUCK WITH SIDE DOORS
The present invention relates to refrigerated trucks, more particularly to a refrigerated truck with side doors, including a refrigerated compartment, a chiller, a partition plate, glass plates, top plates, rotating shafts, side doors, support plates, air curtains, floors, base plates, slots, recessed handles, rails, moveable windows, moving handles and grooves. In the refrigerated truck with side doors of the present invention, doors are arranged on both sides of the refrigerated compartment, and the air curtains are used, which effectively reduces the amount of cold air loss and hot air intrusion, thereby reducing energy consumption of the chiller. Moreover, the support plates are configured to play an auxiliary role in both bearing load and keeping the balance. The present invention makes a contribution to energy saving of the refrigerated truck.
Foam reefer wall backing with hook strip/shape additions and related method
An improved reefer wall panel having better foam adhesion by including a plurality of hook and loop tape sections. The sections, as strips, may be applied horizontally or diagonally and may extend from the top to near the bottom of any such wall panel before foaming. They may be applied to the whole of panel, randomly throughout or to just the more vulnerable lower sections of a given panel.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR TESTING
A method of testing temperature sensors of refrigerated cargo spaces, comprising: installing a wireless temperature sensor in proximity of a cargo space temperature sensor of a refrigerated cargo space; receiving, at a data processing device, temperature data from both the cargo space temperature sensor and the wireless temperature sensor; calculating a temperature difference between the temperature measured by the cargo space temperature sensor and the wireless temperature sensor; and calibrating or replacing the cargo space temperature sensor if the temperature difference exceeds a threshold difference.
Insulating container, transportation device and transportation method
An insulating container comprises a container body and a container cover connected to the container body. The container both and the container cover each comprises a frame and a plate arranged on the frame.
