Disclosed herein is a mover including a plurality of wheels, a body, and a friction braking mechanism. The body has a bottom surface. The body is supported by the plurality of wheels with the bottom surface facing a traveling surface, and travels on the traveling surface by turning the plurality of wheels. The friction braking mechanism applies a brake on the body with at least a portion of the bottom surface or at least a portion of a movable body brought into contact with the traveling surface by switching, while the body is traveling, a state of the movable body from a first state into a second state. The second state is a state where the movable body protrudes from the bottom surface to a different height from in the first state.

The spindle is configured to be attached to the second frame so as to extend therefrom in spaced apart relation to the first frame. The bearing is positioned on the spindle. The cylinder is configured to be attached to the first frame and is attached to the second frame to move the first frame relative to the second frame. The cylinder is positioned on the bearing such that the bearing enables movement between the spindle and the cylinder. The snap ring is attached to the spindle. The bearing retainer is positioned on the spindle between the snap ring, and the bearing retains the bearing on the spindle.

A lift apparatus is provided for use with a vehicle comprising a first frame and a second frame. The lift apparatus comprises a spindle, a bearing, a cylinder, a snap ring, and a bearing retainer. The cylinder is configured to be attached to the first frame and is attached to the second frame to move the first frame relative to the second frame. The cylinder is positioned on the bearing such that the bearing enables movement between the spindle and the cylinder. The snap ring is attached to the spindle. The bearing retainer is positioned on the spindle between the snap ring, and the bearing retains the bearing on the spindle.

A transport vehicle for transporting payloads is provided. The transport vehicle includes primary and secondary chassis, and first and second sets of wheels for supporting the respective primary and secondary chassis. A guide arrangement is mounted on the primary chassis and the secondary chassis is slidably mounted on the guide arrangement. The primary and secondary chassis are parallel and spaced apart from each other. A payload lifting arrangement is positioned on a top surface of the secondary chassis to lift a payload. When a weight of the payload is below or equal to a threshold weight, the weight is distributed across the second set of wheels by way of the suspension arrangement. When the weight of the payload exceeds the threshold weight, the weight is distributed across the first and second sets of wheels by way of the guide arrangement and the suspension arrangement, respectively.

An air ride trailer floor and method to provide shock isolation for cargo of a trailer, A plurality of air bags are preferably provided and are attached atop or above a trailer frame and one or more air ride floors are attached to a top of the plurality of air bags such that cargo which rests on the one or more air ride floors receive not only shock isolation from a road surface due to the conventional suspension system of the trailer (if any), but also receive additional shock isolation through the air ride floor. The stiffness of the isolation of the air ride floor can be adjusted by adjusting pressure of gas within the plurality of air bags.
