Golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads
Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion having a front portion, a rear portion, a toe portion, a heel portion, a top portion, and a bottom portion. The front portion may have a face portion. A rear surface of the face portion may have a plurality of face regions arranged in a plurality of rows and columns forming a grid. The plurality of face regions may have differing thicknesses to control characteristic time (CT) across the face portion. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
Hollow body club heads with filler materials
Embodiments of golf club heads comprising a nanocomposite to attenuate sound of the club head are described herein. The nanocomposite comprises graphene and a polymer. The graphene can be in the form of a powder, where the graphene is suspended within the polymer. The nanocomposite can be disposed within an interior surface of the club head. The nanocomposite can be applied to selected portions of the club head such as behind the strike face. The nanocomposite comprising graphene and the polymer can provide an alternative filler material over homogenous materials to attenuate the sound to provide a pleasing sound and feel to a golfer.
Golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads
Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion with a toe portion, a heel portion, a top portion, a sole portion, a back portion, and a front portion having a face portion with a face portion thickness extending between a front surface and a back surface. The body portion may be associated with a body portion volume. The golf club head may also include an interior cavity. The interior cavity may include an elastic polymer material. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
Golf club and golf club head structures
A golf club head has a body defining a ball striking face. The body further has a first leg extending away from the ball striking face and a second leg extending away from the ball striking face wherein a void is defined between the first leg and the second leg. The body further defines a cover that extends over the void. The golf club head may further have support structures and adjustable weight members.
Golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads
Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a method of manufacturing a golf club head may include providing a body portion having a face opening and an interior cavity. The method may include preparing a surface of the interior cavity to receive a structural adhesive by abrading the surface and cleaning the surface with a solvent. The method may include joining a face portion to the body portion to cover the face opening. The method may include introducing the structural adhesive to the interior cavity. The structural adhesive may form a solid plastic material coupled to a rear surface of the face portion and coupled to a surface of the interior cavity. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
Golf club head or other ball striking device having impact-influencing body features
A ball striking device, such as a golf club head, has a face with a striking surface configured for striking a ball and a channel extending across a portion of the sole. The channel may be recessed from adjacent surfaces of the sole and have a depth of recession from the adjacent surfaces of the sole. A pair of ribs are positioned within the channel. The ribs may diverge away from one another and may have a first rib located in a toe portion of the channel and a second rib located in the heel portion of the channel.
Golf club heads with turbulators and methods to manufacture golf club heads with turbulators
A golf club head including a crown, a sole, a face portion defining a loft plane, a rear portion, and a leading edge between the face portion and the crown. The crown comprises a turbulator comprising a plurality of ridges. Each ridge comprises a front surface having a first end nearest the face, a second end nearest the ridge apex, and a rear surface nearest the rear portion of the club head. The turbulator is positioned in a forward two-fifths portion of the crown in a front end to a rear end direction. The golf club head further comprises a plurality of protrusions on the crown, wherein the plurality of protrusions is positioned near the leading edge and extends toward the rear of the golf club head.
Golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads
Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a method of manufacturing a golf club head includes forming a body portion with an interior cavity, forming a face portion, attaching the face portion to the body portion to close the interior cavity, injecting a polymer material into the interior cavity from a port on the body portion, and inserting a first mass portion into the port to close the port. The method further includes attaching a second mass portion to the body portion below a horizontal midplane of the body portion. A total mass of the second mass portion may be greater than or equal to five times a total mass of the first mass portion. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
GOLF CLUB HEADS
Described are embodiments of golf club heads having an internal cavity and features that cause the golf club head to have an improved acoustic performance when striking a golf ball. Some embodiments include one or more weight tracks and/or weight ports formed in the sole for receiving adjustable weights. The golf club heads can include one or more internal ribs, thickened wall regions, and/or posts positioned within the cavity that increase the rigidity of the club head and improve the acoustic performance of the club head when striking a ball.
GOLF CLUB HAVING A DAMPING ELEMENT FOR BALL SPEED CONTROL
A golf club head including a striking face, a periphery portion surrounding and extending rearwards from the striking face, wherein the striking face comprises a front surface configured to strike a golf ball and a rear surface opposite the front surface, a support arm spaced from the rear surface of the striking face, the support arm extending from the periphery portion, wherein the support arm is affixed to the periphery portion at two distinct locations, a damping element residing between the support arm and the rear surface of the striking face, wherein the damping element comprises a front surface in contact with the rear surface of the striking face and a rear surface in contact with the support arm, wherein the support arm extends substantially parallel a horizontal axis.
