Drive train components for recreational vehicles

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a snowmobile including an engine mounted on the chassis, a drive track in contact with the chassis, and a drive train, operatively interconnecting the engine with the drive track for delivering propulsive power to the drive track. The drive train includes a driveshaft, comprising a tubular driveshaft including two or more interior channels, the channels positioned in a substantially longitudinal orientation, two or more sprocket driving features on an exterior surface of the tubular driveshaft, and one or more fitting components, positioned at one or more distal ends of the driveshaft.

Snowmobile

A snowmobile has a frame, a ski, a rear suspension assembly, an endless track supported by the rear suspension assembly, a motor supported by the frame, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) operatively connecting the motor to the endless track. The motor has a shaft rotatable about a shaft rotation axis. The CVT has a primary pulley, a secondary pulley, and a transmission belt. The primary pulley is rotatable about a primary pulley rotation axis extending parallel to the shaft rotation axis of the shaft of the motor. The primary pulley is operatively connected to and driven by the shaft of the motor by one of a chain and a belt. The secondary pulley is operatively connected to and driven by the primary pulley. The secondary pulley is operatively connected to the endless track. The transmission belt connects the primary pulley to the secondary pulley.

A vehicle comprises a chassis, a seat, an endless drive track, a rear suspension assembly with at least one slide rail and a substantially inextensible limiter strap extending between the chassis and the at least one slide rail, to limit separation between the at least one slide rail and the chassis. The strap holder is moveable between a first holder position and a second holder position, a position of the end of the limiter strap being different in the first strap holder position compared to the second strap holder position. A control cable is operatively connects the strap holder to a strap adjustment actuator. The strap adjustment actuator is disposed forward of the seat and is operable by a user during operation of the vehicle, the strap adjustment actuator being movable between first and second positions related to the positions of the strap holder.
