TRACK SYSTEM FOR TRACTION OF A VEHICLE
20180244326 · 2018-08-30 ·

A track system for traction of a vehicle (e.g., a snowmobile, a snow bike, an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), an agricultural vehicle, etc.). The track system comprises a track and a track-engaging assembly for driving and guiding the track around the track-engaging assembly. The track system may be configured to enhance traction of the vehicle on the ground, such as by maintaining proper contact on the ground when the vehicle is leaned (e.g., for steering and/or over uneven terrain) and/or when the track system is subject to other loading that would otherwise tend to reduce tractive forces that it generates. For example, the track system may be configured such that, when the vehicle travels on the ground, a surface of the track-engaging assembly in contact with a bottom run of the track is movable relative to a frame of the vehicle to change an orientation of the surface of the track-engaging assembly in contact with the bottom run of the track relative to the frame of the vehicle.

An example robotic chassis may include a frame including a first side member and a second side member connected by a transverse member near respective first ends of first side member and the second side member. The robotic chassis may also include a rigid case having a mounting point for a tablet computer. The rigid case may be rotatably coupled between the side members near respective second ends of the side members. The robotic chassis may further include a first arm and a second arm having respective distal ends and respective proximal ends. Respective proximal ends of the first arm and the second arm may be rotatably coupled to the frame near opposite respective first ends of the first side member and the second side member. In addition, the robotic chassis may include a plurality of wheels rotatably coupled to the frame.

Suspension arrangements for vehicles

A suspension assembly is provided for use with a vehicle having a chassis enclosing a drive system for rotatably driving a closed-loop track. The suspension assembly includes at least one elongated ground contact engaged with the closed-loop track, and an elongated swing arm angularly disposed in the closed-loop track. The swing arm extends between a front end portion adapted to be coupled to the chassis, and a rear end portion coupled to the at least one ground contact. A mounting arrangement is coupled to the swing arm for permitting at least rotation of the swing arm about a pivot axis extending longitudinally of the at least one ground contact wherein the mounting arrangement includes a wire rope mount.

DRIVE TRAIN COMPONENTS FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a snowmobile including an engine mounted on the chassis, a drive track in contact with the chassis, and a drive train, operatively interconnecting the engine with the drive track for delivering propulsive power to the drive track. The drive train includes a driveshaft, comprising a tubular driveshaft including two or more interior channels, the channels positioned in a substantially longitudinal orientation, two or more sprocket driving features on an exterior surface of the tubular driveshaft, and one or more fitting components, positioned at one or more distal ends of the driveshaft.

TOE HOLD FOR A SNOWMOBILE

A snowmobile includes a frame, a motor, an endless track and a straddle seat. A left and a right footrest are each connected to the frame extend laterally outwardly therefrom. The footrests extend generally horizontally and are disposed vertically lower than the straddle seat for supporting a left foot of the driver. The left footrest is disposed on a left side of the snowmobile and the right footrest is disposed on a right side thereof. A left toe hold disposed above the left footrest is supported at an inner portion thereof and extends laterally outwardly therefrom to an outer portion thereof, the outer portion of the left toe hold being freely suspended. A right toe hold disposed above the right footrest is supported at an inner portion thereof and extending laterally outwardly therefrom to an outer portion thereof, the outer portion of the right toe hold being freely suspended.
