TRACK FOR TRACTION OF A VEHICLE
20210221453 · 2021-07-22 ·

A track for traction of a vehicle (e.g., a snowmobile), in which the track is studded, i.e., comprises studs, to enhance its traction, including to optimize acceleration, control, and/or braking of the vehicle, such as, for example, by increasing engagement of the studs with a ground on which the vehicle travels (e.g., increasing their number and/or exposure) and/or improving retention of the studs in the track (e.g., better orienting and/or anchoring them), while being lightweight, reducing noise, and/or withstanding high speeds.

Tapered Short Tunnel for a Snowmobile

A tapered short tunnel for use on a tracked vehicle, such as a snowmobile. The tapered short tunnel has a tapered distal end having a width less than a width of an endless track used on the snowmobile. This tapered portion reduces the snowmobile from catching or grabbing snow in a snow trench, thereby enabling the snowmobile to traverse deeper snow.

Tunnel Stud Protection System for a Snowmobile
20210188381 · 2021-06-24 ·

A snowmobile tunnel stop protection system to provide protection to a tunnel from a studded endless track used on a snowmobile. The tunnel includes at least one slot formed into an undersurface of the tunnel. At least one protection rail extends from a first end to a second end and includes a plurality of holes passing through the protection rail. A plurality of fasteners are used to attach the protection rail to the tunnel where each fastener has a first fastener portion that passes through the at least one slot. Each fastener includes the first fastener portion that passes through one of the plurality of holes and a second fastener portion that couples to the corresponding first fastener portion to couple the protection rail to the slot formed in the tunnel.

TRACK FOR TRACTION OF AN OFF-ROAD VEHICLE SUCH AS A SNOWMOBILE OR AN ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE (ATV)

A track for traction of an off-road vehicle such as a snowmobile or an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The track comprises an inner surface, a ground-engaging outer surface, and a plurality of traction projections projecting from the ground-engaing outer surface. The track may be very thin and/or the traction projections may be very high.

REAR SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY FOR A SNOWMOBILE
20210163086 · 2021-06-03 ·

A snowmobile has a rear suspension assembly including at least one slide rail, a plurality of idler wheels, a front suspension arm having first upper and lower ends, and a rear suspension arm having second upper and lower ends. The first upper end is connected to a tunnel of the snowmobile. The first lower end is selectively connected to the at least one slide rail. The first lower end is connectable to the at least one slide rail at first and second positions. The first position of the first lower end is vertically higher from a bottom surface of the at least one slide rail than the second position of the first lower end. The second upper end is connected to the tunnel.

DRIVE TRAIN COMPONENTS FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a snowmobile including an engine mounted on the chassis, a drive track in contact with the chassis, and a drive train, operatively interconnecting the engine with the drive track for delivering propulsive power to the drive track. The drive train includes a driveshaft, comprising a tubular driveshaft including two or more interior channels, the channels positioned in a substantially longitudinal orientation, two or more sprocket driving features on an exterior surface of the tubular driveshaft, and one or more fitting components, positioned at one or more distal ends of the driveshaft.

DRIVE TRACK FOR A TRACKED VEHICLE
20210114690 · 2021-04-22 ·

A drive track for a tracked vehicle has an endless belt having an outer surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface, a plurality of lugs projecting from the outer surface, a plurality of stiffening rods extending laterally in the endless belt, and a plurality of rib segments disposed on the outer surface of the endless belt. The plurality of rib segments extends in a longitudinal direction around an entirety of the endless belt. The rib segments are laterally aligned with each other. Each rib segment of the plurality of rib segment has a height and a width. The height is greater than the width. At least some longitudinally consecutive rib segments of the plurality of rib segments are connected to each other by a corresponding lug of the plurality of lugs disposed longitudinally between the longitudinally consecutive of rib segments. A vehicle with drive track is also described.
