GOLF-CLUB PROVIDED WITH A CLUB-HEAD HAVING SURFACES CONFIGURED TO BE COVERED BY AIR VORTEX FLOWS
20170312591 · 2017-11-02 ·

This invention provides a golf club with a club-head configured so as to decrease air resistance of the head by avoiding the air flows from retouching on the head surface. The club-head is provided with a ridge structure which contains a first ridge and a second ridge arranged at intervals in a downward direction of the air flows on at least the sole part of the head, wherein each of the ridges has the height of 0.2 mm to 3 mm and the breadth of 1 mm to 5 mm, the ridge structure being configured by plural ridges so as to displace the inclined angle of the ridges in a clockwise direction, resulting in generation of air vortex or whirls between the head surface and the surrounding air flows as shown in FIG. 2.

LOW DRAG CLUBHEAD WITH ASYMMETRIC AFT PORTION

Golf club heads with improved aerodynamic properties. In an example, the golf club head has striking face; a sole connected to a bottom side of the striking face; a crown connected to a top side of the striking face. An aft slice of the golf club head includes a rearmost point, a toe-side aft slice on a toe side of the rearmost point, and a heel-side aft slice on a heel side of the rearmost point. The heel-side aft slice has a volume greater than a volume of the toe-side aft slice. The aft slice is defined as a portion of the golf club head to a rear of a slice line and between an outer perimeter of the golf club head and an offset perimeter slice curve.

GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH VORTEX GENERATORS

Golf club heads with improved aerodynamic properties. The golf club head may include a striking face, a sole, a crown, and a plurality of vortex generators positioned in an aft half of the sole or an aft half of the crown. The vortex generators may be positioned on an inlay that is received by a recess of the crown or the sole. The inlay may be manufactured separately from the remainder of the club head body, such as the crown and the sole.

GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH LOW-DRAG HOSEL

Metal-wood type golf club heads having improved aerodynamic properties are disclosed. The golf club head includes a striking face; a sole connected to a bottom side of the striking face; a crown connected to a top side of the striking face; and an asymmetric hosel extending from the crown at a heelward side of the golf club head, the hosel including a hosel opening configured to receive a golf club shaft defining a shaft axis. The hosel includes at least one tripping structure on an exterior of the hosel. At the midpoint, a frontmost point of the exterior of the hosel is a distance DHF.sub.1/2 from the shaft axis; and at the midpoint, a rearmost point of the exterior of the hosel is a distance DHR.sub.1/2 from the shaft axis, the distance DHR.sub.1/2 is 25%-70% greater than the distance DHF.sub.1/2.

GOLF CLUB HEADS WITH TURBUATORS AND METHODS TO MANUFACTURE GOLF CLUB HEADS WITH TURBULATORS

Embodiments of golf club heads with turbulators and methods to manufacture golf club heads with turbulators are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Sport exercise device

A sport exercise device; for use with a sport stick, the sport stick having a head and a shaft. The device comprises a face, edge and attachment means. In one approach, the edge is adapted and arranged to surround the stick's head. The attachment means allows attachment of the device's face to hold an independently provided weight with respect to the head. The attachment means may allow attachment of the device's face to close the stick's net sufficient to prevent out-passage of a ball within the net.

Golf club head with airfoil

A golf club head for a driver is disclosed. The golf club head includes a face portion and a rearward end portion. An upward facing surface in a crown portion of the golf club head curves up towards the rearward end portion to keep airflow from separating from the crown portion. A downward facing surface on a sole portion of the golf club includes an airfoil that helps keep air stuck to the sole portion of the golf club head. The airfoil portion extends across a substantial entirety of the width of the golf club head.

Club head having balanced impact and swing performance characteristics

Described herein are embodiments of golf club heads having a balance of the following parameters: a low and back club head center of gravity position, a high moment of inertia, and low aerodynamic drag. Methods of manufacturing the embodiments of golf club heads having a balance of club head center of gravity position, moment of inertia, and aerodynamic drag are also described herein.

GOLF CLUB

Aspects of the invention are directed to golf club having a crown, a sole, a face, and a primary alignment feature hard tooled into the golf club head. In some embodiments the golf club has a primary alignment feature comprising a line delineating a transition between at least a portion of the crown having an area of contrasting shade or color with a shade or color of the face. The primary alignment feature is hard tooled into the golf club head with the face of the golf club body.
