The present invention provides a device and method for adapting a vehicle-mounted bicycle carrier to function as a stand for holding the bicycle to perform maintenance and repairs. A bicycle carrier attachment is provided which may be added to or manufactured as a part of a typical vehicle-mounted bicycle carrier. The attachment consists of a cradle with an open channel to receive and support an axle of the bicycle, an attachment device for attaching the cradle to the carrier, and a mechanism for elevating or lowering the cradle and thus the axle supported by the cradle. When the cradle is elevated, the bicycle is held in a position that allows the wheel surrounding the lifted axle to freely rotate, as is useful for maintenance functions.

A bike rack for, but not limited to, truck and vehicle beds using an over center locking mechanism actuated by a lever. The mechanism is combined with a clamping arm that, allows a bike to be secured by a single movement of the lever. The bike is secured without removing the bike's wheels. The same lever when reversed in a single movement, will quickly release the bike to be immediately removed. A slide assembly and tuning knob will allow for adjustment to fit different tire diameters. The bike rack can be attached to a vehicle using a crossbar or other means of attachment. To mount the bike, the bike's wheel is placed into the rack and the clamping arm is lowered against the tire and locked into position by the lever creating a pressure fit.

A folding bicycle rack with automatic wheel fixing, including a wall-mounting structure, a bottom frame, and an adjustable positioning assembly including a positioning member and a tilted structure. The wall-mounting structure is vertically fixed on a wall. An end of the bottom frame is in an angularly-restricted rotational connection with a lower end of the wall-mounting structure. The bottom frame is provided with a wheel-receiving groove at least partially running through the bottom frame. The positioning member is arranged at a side of the wheel-receiving groove near the wall, and is fixed in use. The tilted structure is arranged at a side of the wheel-receiving groove away from the wall, and is in an angularly-restricted rotational connection with an end of the bottom frame away from the wall. The positioning member and the tilted structure abut against the tire from opposite sides, respectively to support and limit the tire.

A friction drive system for a bicycle, which enables a bicycle to be converted into an electrically assisted bicycle, includes a driving system including a friction roller in driven engagement with a motor of the driving system. The friction roller defines a wheel engaging surface configured for engaging a wheel of the bicycle via friction between the wheel engaging surface and the wheel. A controller is operatively connected to a traction control system, for controlling a torque exerted by the friction roller on the wheel, and/or to an adjustable pressure system, for moving the wheel engaging surface and varying a contact force exerted between the friction roller and the wheel of the bicycle.

A stand for locating a wheeled vehicle such as a bicycle has front and rear locating structures for receiving a wheel and having three pairs of cooperating locating surfaces for locating the wheel. The front locating structure has a front upper pair and a front lower pair cooperating locating surfaces, and the rear locating structure has a rear lower pair cooperating locating surfaces. The two lower pairs are positioned asymmetrically relative to the upper pair. The front locating structure has an opening positioned between its upper and lower pairs of cooperating locating surfaces wide enough to allow the wheel axle to pass through the front locating structure.

When a bicycle is removed, a hook is first removed from a hooking ring and a rubber string built from a rim side of a wheel is removed from the wheel. Next, the wheel is removed from the space between a first rack member and a second rack member, thereby the second rack member is automatically and forcibly folded toward a base member and the first rack member through the forcible power of a spring hinge. At that time, although the second rack member collides with the base member or the first rack member, collision shock at the time of collision is relieved by a cushion member. After the bicycle is removed, based on that a seat of a flip-up seat is moved downward, the retaining space for the bicycle can be restored to passenger's seat.
