TURN SIGNAL CANCELATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TWO-WHEELED VEHICLES
20230101567 · 2023-03-30 ·

In a turn signal cancelation system for a two-wheeled vehicle, a controller is adapted to automatically cancel the turn signal of the vehicle upon: (a) a determined distance traveled by the vehicle after an occurrence of the predetermined operation of the vehicle exceeding a first distance threshold and a determined yaw angle traversed by the vehicle after the occurrence of the predetermined operation of the vehicle exceeding a yaw angle threshold; and (b) the determined distance traveled by the vehicle after the occurrence of the predetermined operation of the vehicle exceeding a second distance threshold, different from the first distance threshold, independent of the determined yaw angle traversed by the vehicle after the occurrence of the predetermined operation of the vehicle.

BICYCLE HYDRAULIC BRAKING SYSTEM OF THE DISC TYPE AND RELATED COMPONENTS AND METHODS
20230037259 · 2023-02-02 · ·

A hydraulic disc braking system is disclosed. The system has a manually operated control device for a cyclist to issue a braking command. The system has a master cylinder assembly having a membrane dividing the hydraulic fluid tank into a variable volume filled chamber and a complementarily variable volume empty chamber. A membrane detector senses the presence of the membrane relative to a predetermined position in the tank and/or a meter measures the distance of the membrane from the ceiling of tank.

BICYCLE HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKING SYSTEM AND A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSING THE BRAKING SYSTEM
20230036646 · 2023-02-02 · ·

A diagnostic method for a bicycle hydraulic disc braking system, having a master cylinder assembly with a cylinder inside which a piston reciprocates against the action of a return spring. The master cylinder has a hydraulic tank with a bottom, a ceiling, and a membrane that divides the hydraulic tank into two chambers. The hydraulic tank is connected to the cylinder through the bottom. A metering device measures the distance between the membrane and the ceiling of the tank. The output signal of the metering device is evaluated to determine that operation is correct when the membrane temporarily approaches the ceiling by a predetermined extent range, or incorrect otherwise. A positive evaluation reflects the correct operating condition, and a negative evaluation reflects an incorrect operating condition.

Guided navigation for personal transport devices
11486725 · 2022-11-01 · ·

A method for providing guided navigation for personal transport devices is described. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a list of predetermined destinations associated with a geographic area, projecting directions to one or more of the destinations on a ground surface located in front of a personal transport device, and providing an option to a user of the personal transport device to select between at least two different destinations. A direction associated with each destination of the at least two destinations may be projected on the ground surface located in front of the personal transport device. The method also includes receiving an input from the user indicating a selection of one of the at least two different destinations and projecting directions to the selected destination on the ground surface located in front of the personal transport device to guide the user to the selected destination.

APPARATUS FOR OPERATING DISPLAY TYPE VEHICLE SWITCH, AND METHOD THEREOF
20230074687 · 2023-03-09 ·

An apparatus for operating a display type vehicle switch includes a controller that controls one or more symbols related to a function of a vehicle to be displayed on a display, the display that displays the one or more symbols, and a selection device that selects at least one of the one or more symbols displayed on the display.

Parking brake apparatus for saddled vehicle

To provide a parking brake apparatus for a saddled vehicle actuated in response to a reverse rotation on a throttle grip which is set in a simplified structure. A parking brake apparatus for a saddled vehicle includes a parking brake caliper configured to restrict a rotation of a rear wheel while the motorcycle is parked; a steering handle configured to steer a front wheel; and a throttle grip mounted on the steering handle and configured to control output of a power unit. The control unit actuates the parking brake caliper by a motor when at least the throttle grip is reversely rotated and the vehicle speed is zero. The throttle grip being reversely rotated is detected according to information from a throttle position sensor which is interlocked with the throttle grip.

Dynamic blind spot detector for motorcycle

When riding a motorcycle, a vehicle in the rider's blind spot poses a hazard. A fixed range blind spot detector may not properly detect vehicles in adjacent lanes if the motorcycle is at one side or other of the lane that it is travelling in. A lane position sensor detects the position of the motorcycle with respect to the centerline of the lane in which it is travelling. Depending on the sideways position of the motorcycle within its lane, the widths of the detection zones of the blind spot detector are adjusted so that between them they cover a majority of the width of each adjacent lane.

NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AND ELECTRIC POWER ASSISTED VEHICLE

A notification system for an electric power assisted vehicle includes two or more notifiers to notify a user that a remaining charge of a battery that supplies power to an electric motor is low, and a controller configured or programmed to control operations of the two or more notifiers. The two or more notifiers include two or more of a display panel to display the remaining battery charge, a lamp to emit light, and a sound component to produce sound. The controller is configured or programmed to compare the remaining battery charge with a predetermined value, and when the remaining battery charge is lower than or equal to the predetermined value, to notify the user that the remaining battery charge is low by a combination of the operations of the two or more notifiers.
