LIGHTING SYSTEM
20230194066 · 2023-06-22 · ·

A lighting system includes a lighting device arranged to attach to a vehicle. The lighting device includes at least two ultraviolet lights and at least one sensor. The sensor determines whether any of at least two areas or zones adjacent to the lighting device are poorly visibly illuminated and/or occupied by personnel, and illuminates these areas or zones with ultraviolet light. The lighting system is configured to operate in conjunction with existing emergency visible lighting and/or flashing visible light systems by using the sensors to sense visible illumination of each individual area or zone provided by the existing emergency visible lighting and flashing visible light systems. The lighting system may be configured to synchronize the illumination of each individual area or zone in ultraviolet light with intermittent absence of visible light illumination in each area or zone from the existing emergency visible lighting and flashing visible light systems.

A safety device and a safety method are usable with a motorcycle having a horn assembly and a hazard light assembly. The safety device includes a detection module and a hazard control module. The detection module may detect the activation of the horn assembly by an engagement of a horn switch of the horn assembly by a user and provide a trigger to activate the hazard control module. The hazard control module may place hazard lights of the hazard light assembly in an on state for a duration period in response to an activation of the horn assembly. The hazard control module may also automatically place the plurality of hazard lights in an off state at an end of the duration period.

Straddled vehicle and lighting device for straddled vehicle

A first inclined surface and a second inclined surface are inclined with respect to an optical axis of a light emitting diode. The first inclined surface guides light from the light emitting diode guided in the first light transmitting portion toward an outside of an outer lens. An inclination angle of the second inclined surface with respect to the optical axis is larger than an inclination angle of the first inclined surface with respect to the optical axis. The second inclined surface reflects the light from the light emitting diode guided in the first light transmitting portion toward the second light transmitting portion and guides the light into the second light transmitting portion.

MOTORCYCLE LIGHT FOR REALIZING AT LEAST ONE LIGHT FUNCTION
20210403112 · 2021-12-30 ·

The invention relates to a motorcycle lamp (2) for implementing at least one lamp function. The motorcycle lamp (2) comprises a housing (4) having a light-emission aperture (6), a bracket (8) mounted on the housing (4) for securing the motorcycle lamp (2) to a motorcycle, at least one light source (10) disposed in the housing (4) and a front optics (12) made of a solid transparent material disposed between the at least one light source (10) and the light-emission aperture (6), wherein the at least one light source (10) comprises an LED and is disposed and oriented in the housing (4) such that it emits light in a main radiation direction (14) extending through the light-emission aperture (6), and wherein the front optics (12) closes the light-emission aperture (6) and deflects and shapes the light emitted by the at least one light source (10) to generate a light distribution corresponding to a lamp function implemented by the motorcycle lamp (2). In order for the lamp (2) to improve the lateral perceptibility without the use of additional optical elements in the optical path, it is proposed that a light-emission surface (16) of the front optics (12) has a first convex curvature when viewed in a horizontal plane (yz) and a second convex curvature when viewed in a vertical plane (xz), the latter being smaller than the first convex curvature in the horizontal plane (yz) or flat.
