This design incorporates four separate modules which are bolted together in this succession: a welded, structural single-unit steering tube/downtube module; independent, twin, front-to-rear horizontal frame rails which serve as the support for the rider to stand; a welded, structural single-unit module to mount shock absorbers and a swingarm; and, a welded swingarm. The defined space between the twin frame rails and the two adjoining modules can be modified by altering the length of the frame rails and/or using spacers between each rail and its corresponding module at the bolt-on location.

Vehicle body frame structure of straddle-type vehicle

Provided is a vehicle body frame structure which can reduce a burden in the assembly of a straddle-type vehicle. The vehicle body frame comprises a main frame; and a rear frame connected to and extending rearward from the main frame. The main frame includes first and second members which are connected to each other. The main frame includes first and second connection portions spaced apart from each other in a direction perpendicular to a vehicle width direction. The connection portions are provided at the first member and the second member, respectively. The rear frame includes a first connected portion connected to the first connection portion by a first fastener member, and a second connected portion connected to the second connection portion by a second fastener member. The restricting direction of the first fastener member is orthogonal to the restricting direction of the second fastener member.

A foldable bicycle has a frame with a seat tube, a down tube and a top tube. An inclined strut is pivotable with the top tube and with an openable connection to the down tube. The down tube is connected with a joint to a crankshaft bearing housing so that a rotation axle in this joint is turned to form an angle to a line substantially parallel to the crankshaft bearing housing's longitudinal axis. The top tube is connected through a joint to the seat tube so that a rotation axle in this joint is turned to form an angle around the seat tube's longitudinal axis. The top tube is at its other end that's opposite the seat tube connected with a joint to the head tube so that a rotation axle in this joint is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of both the head tube and top tube.
