The frame includes a down tube extending downward and rearward from the front end of the bike and a drive module enclosure formed at a second end of the down tube. The Drive Unit has an Electric Motor Device and a Bottom Bracket Assembly having a Bottom Bracket Shaft. The disclosure also relates to a Bicycle Frame or Frame Interface Unit, and an Energy Storage Device for the Electric Bicycle Drive Unit. The Drive Unit includes s an Integrative Energy Storage Device for supplying energy to the motor device. The Integrative Energy Storage Device can be arranged adjacent to the motor device in such a way that the center of gravity position of the Energy Storage Device and the center of gravity position of the Drive Unit lie within the Bottom Bracket Area.
MOTOR UNIT FOR USE IN ELECTRIC BICYCLES, AND ELECTRIC BICYCLE
A motor unit for use in an electric bicycle, the motor unit including a motor configured to drive a wheel of the electric bicycle in rotation. The motor unit includes a shell which at least partially houses the motor. The motor includes a rotary shaft, a rotor coupled to the rotary shaft to rotate along with the rotary shaft, and a stator arranged to surround the rotor. The stator is partially resin-molded and has a metallic surface exposed on an outer periphery thereof. A pin is interposed between the shell and the stator.

A bicycle has a bicycle body, a bicycle component, and a battery. The bicycle body has a frame including a down tube, a component mounting portion, and a seat tube. The bicycle component includes a bicycle drive unit. At least a portion of the bicycle component is arranged inside the frame. The frame further includes a first open portion that is provided on the component mounting portion and opens toward an upper side of the bicycle. At least a portion of the bicycle drive unit is disposed inside the frame and is exposed through the first open portion.

The battery may be inserted into or removed from the down tube via a through opening through a bottom bracket housing of the bicycle frame. Weakness in the bottom bracket housing due to the through opening may be compensated for, fully or partially, by utilizing a bottom bracket bearing assembly that has a structural component, or structural component assembly, that extends completely through the bottom bracket housing and removably couples to the bottom bracket housing.
