A reciprocating mechanism includes a first connecting element, a crankshaft and a second connecting element. The crankshaft includes a rotation shaft, a first following element and a second following element. The first following element is pivotally disposed on one side of the rotation shaft and movably coupled to the first connecting element. The second following element is pivotally disposed on the other side of the rotation shaft, and a first angle is formed between the first following element and the second following element. The second connecting element is movably coupled to the second following element. The first following element and the second following element are configured to rotate around the rotation shaft so as to be movably coupled to and cause each of the first connecting element and the second connecting element to reciprocate and cyclically pivot along an arc-shaped trajectory.

A first sprocket is concentric with the small gear, a second sprocket is rotatably provided rear of the first sprocket and lower than the rotation center thereof, a chain is wound between the first and second sprockets, and a first rachet which mounted on the small gear restricts rearward rotation of the rear wheel via the large gear.

In an aspect there is provided a swing scooter, comprising a frame, a steering member, a front wheel, at least two support legs, and at least two platforms. A rear wheel support is pivotally attached each support leg. A rear wheel is rotatably attached to each rear wheel support. Each platform is movably attached to an associated support leg, and positioned for supporting a foot of a user. Each platform has a longitudinal platform axis and is movable between a first position in which the platform is angled down laterally towards a first lateral side of the swing scooter, and a second position in which the platform is angled down laterally towards a second lateral side of the swing scooter. The platform is movable to the first and second positions by movement of the foot of the user.

A rear wheel support is pivotally attached each support leg. A rear wheel is rotatably attached to each rear wheel support. Each platform is movably attached to an associated support leg, and positioned for supporting a foot of a user. Each platform has a longitudinal platform axis and is movable between a first position in which the platform is angled down laterally towards a first lateral side of the swing scooter, and a second position in which the platform is angled down laterally towards a second lateral side of the swing scooter. The platform is movable to the first and second positions by movement of the foot of the user.
