A flexible net system is provided that includes a net having a net first end and a net second end, a net top portion, and a net bottom portion. The system further including a pair of support bases including a first support base and a second support base, each support base including a base bottom portion, a support portion extending upwards from the base bottom portion, the support portion engaging and pivotably securing a control arm thereto, and a base strap having a base strap first end secured to the support portion and a base strap second end secured to the net bottom portion. The system further including a first net support pole and a second net support pole, wherein the first net support pole and the second net support pole are resiliently bendable and coupled between the net and respective support bases, and a plurality primary support ropes.

A tension board (30, 130) for straining net style fencing materials (42) composed of a first plurality of spaced apart substantially horizontal wires and a second plurality of spaced apart substantially vertical wires, is disclosed. The tension board takes the form of an elongate member having a longitudinal axis and a longitudinal extent at least corresponding to the distance between the first and last of the horizontal wires, and a plurality of wire grippers (10) connected to the elongate member at spaced apart locations. Each of the wire grippers (10) is configured to releasably grasp a corresponding one of the horizontal wires. This enables quick set up prior to straining and quick release once strained and tied off.

A method for playing a game includes positioning a shield of the game between a first target box of a first team and a second target box of a second team, the game further including at least one target of the first team and at least one projectile; positioning the at least one target of the first team in the first target box by a first player of the first team in a target setup step; positioning a second player of the second team in a second team throwing position; and throwing a projectile of the at least one projectile at the first target box by the second player while positioned in the second team throwing position.

A system for lighting a volleyball court has four corner light assemblies, two side center light assemblies, and four mid-court light assemblies. Each corner light assembly has an upper light fixture adapted to emit light outward and downward at a level generally below a player's eye level and a lower light element mounted in a manner to emit light outwards and upwards. Each side center light assembly has two lower light fixtures adapted to emit light outward and downward at a level generally below a player's eye level and an upper light assembly adapted to emit light outwards and upwards at a level generally above a player's eye level. Each mid-court light assembly has a light fixture adapted to emit light outward and downward at a level generally below a player's eye level. By ensuring that no light is emitted at a player's eye level, glare is significantly reduced.

A portable sporting equipment assembly including a column removably attachable to a base. The column can include a tapered foundation and can be inserted through a bottom of the base. The base includes an opening with a taper that is complimentary to the tapered foundation of the column. One or more horizontal notches can secure the tapered foundation of the column into the base when engaged with one or more horizontal recessions of the opening of the base. The tapered foundation can reduce strain at an interface between the column and the base.

A portable sporting equipment assembly including a column removably attachable to a base. The column can include a tapered foundation and can be inserted through a bottom of the base. The base includes an opening with a taper that is complimentary to the tapered foundation of the column. One or more horizontal notches can secure the tapered foundation of the column into the base when engaged with one or more horizontal recessions of the opening of the base. A game net for playing a game involving hitting an object back-and-forth between players located on opposite sides of the net. The game net has a netting or panel that is supportable on a frame or otherwise above a ground surface and is movable from location to location. The netting or panel has an opening or window formed completely therethrough to provide passage of the object through the netting or panel when hit by one or more players located on opposite sides of the netting or panel. With the game net, players must direct the object more accurately through the window with a higher degree of precision than what is required to pass an object over existing game nets.
