20180318689 · 2018-11-08 ·

A tennis ball target device is provided that may provide for at least one target element having lettering, a design, or other such visual indicia that may indicate where a user might strike the target with a tennis ball. In some embodiments, the target element may be hingedly connected at its base to a weighted base element, which in some embodiments provides the counter-force to the impact created by the tennis ball. In some embodiments, different weighted bases may be provided or associated with the present invention.

Soccer training arena

A soccer training facility or arena of this invention includes an upstanding wall system having an upper end and a lower end. The wall system has at least one and preferably a plurality of horizontally spaced-apart rectangular target openings formed therein at the lower end thereof. A training target is positioned in each of the target openings and which is movable between a normally inner position to an outer position. The training target is moved from its inner position to its outer position upon the training target being struck by a soccer ball. The training targets are sequentially illuminated by a controller for a predetermined length of time. The number of illuminated training targets being struck by a soccer ball within a preselected period of time is recorded.

Pivoting soccer goal and game

A pivoting soccer goal mounted on a turntable can rotate so that a ball directed at the goal from nearly any angle will rotate the goal so that the ball will go into the goal. The goal can be seated in a standard golf cup and so can be used on a golf course. In another embodiment, the pivoting soccer goal can be mounted on a mat and set on any suitable field without the need for any holes in the ground.

SCORING DEVICE FOR SCORING A SNOWBALL FIGHT
20180147464 · 2018-05-31 ·

A scoring device for scoring a snowball fight. The device worn by a person has a target portion and a scoring chamber portion. The target portion includes a target, and the scoring chamber portion is coupled below the target portion and is arranged to accumulate and store snow falling from the target portion. In some embodiments the target portion also includes a permeable layer coupled to the target in a spaced apart construction to form an interior region between the permeable layer and the target, the permeable layer configured to allow snow from snowballs to pass through the permeable layer and into the interior region before falling into the scoring chamber portion. In some embodiments a stopper element at least partially separates the target portion from the scoring chamber portion, to limit the amount of snow that exits the scoring chamber portion when the person bends over.

A training apparatus includes a panel that forms an obstruction proximate an entrance plane of a goal. The panel has one or more apertures that permit an object passage through the entrance plane of the goal. The training apparatus also includes a rotary assembly coupled to the panel and one or more doors in operable communication with the rotary assembly. The rotary assembly has an axis of rotation and at least one arm that rotates there-about. Each door is located proximate a respective aperture and movable between a closed position and an open position based on motion by the rotary assembly.

Ground drone-based sports training aid

A ground traversing, electrically driven drone travels along a preprogrammed path that corresponds to pass catcher's travel path during a play, matching the pass catcher's speed and run cuts. The play is wirelessly communicated to the drone by a handheld electronic device located remote of the drone. A target is located on the drone so that a quarterback can throw a football at the target in order to refine the quarterback's timing and accuracy for the play. Sensors onboard the drone track both the football's and quarterback's speed and travel trajectories so that such data can be collected, along with the drone's travel path, and stored onboard the drone's control unit and eventually fed into 3-D reconstruction software for analysis by the quarterback and coaching staff. The target rotates so that the target either faces in a fixed direction or constantly faces the quarterback during execution of drone's maneuvers.

MECHANICAL GOALTENDER

An embodiment of a mechanical goaltender includes two portions being connectable so as to be angularly offsettable from one another, each portion including: at least one stationary board comprising at least one stationary opening; and at least one rotating board comprising at least one orbiting opening, affixed to the stationary board such that the at least one orbiting opening periodically comes into alignment with the at least one stationary opening, whereby when the mechanical goaltender is positioned to block an opening of a goal net and the at least one rotating board is activated, a user can shoot a projectile into the goal net only when the at least one orbiting opening comes into alignment with the at least one stationary opening. In another embodiment, a mechanical goaltender includes two hingedly connectable portions, each portion comprising: a frame; a stationary board associated with the frame and comprising at least one stationary opening; a powertrain associated with the frame and comprising an electrical motor; and a rotatable board in driving engagement with the powertrain to be rotatable with respect to the stationary board and comprising at least one orbitable opening, the rotatable board dimensioned and located with respect to the stationary board such that the at least one orbitable opening periodically comes into and out of alignment with the at least one stationary opening when driven by the powertrain.
