DYNAMIC BASKETBALL GAME SYSTEM AND METHOD
20250213946 · 2025-07-03 ·

A dynamic basketball game system and method, having a substantially cubical base assembly having proximal and distal ends and includes a basketball hoop assembly designed to be horizontally movable along a linear channel assembly between those proximal and the distal ends. The pole assembly may be rotatable around the center of mass of the basketball hoop assembly, the center of mass further defining a vertical axis of the basketball hoop assembly. Included in the dynamic basketball game system is a pedestal assembly proximate to the cubical base assembly at the proximal end of the cubical base assembly and in communication with at least one controller assembly, a game space disposed substantially above the combined pedestal assembly and cubical base assembly wherein optical and other sensors may determine the movements of users and balls within the games space wherein users may further interact via at least one user interface and screen.

The present invention comprises a unique system and method for providing adaptable ball delivery and tracking, including appropriate sensor hardware, interactive gameplay user interfaces and point of sales systems. The system and method of the present invention are especially relevant to baseball and softball as, among other components, the system comprises a vertical, ground-up soft toss ball delivery mechanism, automated player and ball-tracking devices, and ball-collection and transport systems. The ball collection and return components eliminate the need for fielders and enable the creation of the first batting range. The vertical, ground-up soft-toss pitch machine further enables the first multi-story batting facility with player batting bays that open onto a sports field. Further, certain embodiments of the present invention integrate hitting screens, augmented reality display and simultaneous coordination of gameplay and communication between players, regardless of the players' physical location.

Target assembly for projectile shooting practice

A projectile target assembly includes one or more latching target subassemblies and a reset target subassembly, with each subassembly bearing a target at which projectiles may be shot. Striking a target on any of the subassemblies moves it from an extended position to a retracted position, and striking the target of the reset target subassembly actuates any retracted targets of the latching target subassemblies to move back to their ready-to-shoot extended positions. A shooter can therefore reset the targets of the latching target subassemblies by simply shooting at (and hitting) the target of the reset target subassembly, without the need to travel from the shooter's shooting location to the projectile target assembly to reset the targets into their ready-to-shoot extended positions.

A basketball shooting game system (1) having at least two differently sized rims (10) configured to receive a shot basketball (2) from a shooter (3) is disclosed. The system (1) may include a processor (95) configured to determine whether a basketball (2) has traversed through one of the at least two differently sized rims (10) and generate a made shot identifier (94) and generate a plurality of data. The system (1) may include first data (99) generated from the processor including at least a basket size identifier (92) representative of a first sized rim from the at least two differently sized rims (10), second data (99) generated from the processor (95) including at least a basket size identifier (92) representative of a second sized rim from the at least two differently sized rims (10), and a display (28) configured to display a numeric value representing a score, wherein the score is based at least in part on the made shot identifier (94) and the first and second data (99).
