A MOORING CONNECTOR
A connector adapted for release under load from a complementary connector. The connector having a locking element for engagement with the complementary connector to lock the complementary connector to the connector; and a locking member moveable from a locked position to an unlocked position. The locking member operative to permit the/each locking element to lock the complementary connector to the connector when in the locked position and operative to allow the/each locking element to release the complementary connector when in the unlocked position. The locking member and locking element arranged such that when the connector is locked to the complementary connector and the locking member is in a partially unlocked position, a load applied to the/each locking element causes the/each locking element to urge the locking member towards its fully unlocked position, thereby unlocking the complementary connector from the connector.
Automatic mooring device for vessels
An automatic mooring device for vessels includes a coupling element associable with a mooring point or with a vessel, and a capture element, associable with a vessel or with a mooring point and detachably engageable with the coupling element. The coupling element includes an autonomous floating body; a supporting element fixed to the floating body; a hook element associated with the supporting element and movable with respect to the supporting element from a coupling position to a release position; a safety lever, which can engage the hook element so as to close its bend for the retention of the capture element; and elements for retaining the hook element in the coupling position.
Boat Tie Down Apparatus
A boat tie down apparatus including a tubular member, the tubular member has a length that provides for the displacement of a boat from the dock during mooring, the tubular member has a rope extending therethrough, the front end of the rope extends out the front of the tubular member, and locates approximate the front end of the tubular member, to form a variable sized loop, for securement over a cleat or other structure at the dock. The back end of the rope, that extends through the tubular member, can be pulled for tightening the apparatus to the dock, and then the back end of the rope can be tied to a structure on the boat, such as a cleat, to provide for securement of the boat to the dock, displaced from the dock, during its mooring.
Quick-release securing device
A quick-release securing device is constructed of nylon strap having an openable loop at one end and a fixed circumference enclosure at the other end. The fixed circumference enclosure is preferably a circular securing belt that is attached via a buckle, or slidable loop that is non-removable. The distance between the openable loop and the fixed circumference enclosure, and the circumference of the openable loop, is adjustable. The openable loop can be opened and closed using a buckle.
AQUATIC ANIMAL DETANGLING DEVICE OF BENTHIC GEAR AND MOORING LINES
A system and device are disclosed for severing a mooring line. The device includes a line cutting assembly, one or more pressure sensors, and a control system configured to monitor the pressure sensor and actuate the line cutting assembly based upon the monitored pressure.
Rope tender for watercraft
A rope tender for a recreational watercraft is removably attached to the top of an outboard motor or a transom of the watercraft. The rope tender has a partial labyrinth slot which captively receive one or more anchor or mooring ropes to prevent entanglement of the ropes with the motor or propellers associated therewith. The rope tender may be conveniently removed and stowed when the watercraft is configured in an operational condition.
Recessed and retractable mooring line assembly
A recessed and retractable mooring line device includes a housing having a mooring head that is configured for projecting through an opening or recess of a mounting structure so that an upper surface of the mooring head does not project from an outer surface of the mounting structure. A reel assembly is coupled to the housing and positioned below the mooring head to take up a flexible mooring line. The reel assembly includes a rotatable spool for winding the line. A ratchet wheel and spool that is engaged by a pawl prevents rotation of the ratchet wheel and spool when engaged. A moor head assembly that includes a pawl actuator actuates the pawl. An actuator lock of the moor head assembly engages the pawl actuator to keep it engaged with the pawl. A line anchor is used for securing to an end of the mooring line.
Mooring System for a Floating Wind Turbine
The invention relates to a system comprising: a foundation element that has a universal joint, wherein the universal joint has a first universal joint element connected to the foundation element for conjoint rotation and a second universal joint element which is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the first universal joint element by carrying out a rotation about its own longitudinal axis; a floating wind turbine; and a mooring line. One end of mooring line is connected to the foundation element a first connector connected to the second universal joint element for conjoint rotation and the other end of which is connected to the floating wind turbine a second connector rotatably mounted on the floating wind turbine. The system also includes a controller which, on the basis of the rotational position of the floating wind turbine about the foundation element, brings about the adoption of a rotational position of the second connector rotatably mounted on the floating wind turbine; wherein the rotational position of the second connector rotatably mounted on the floating wind turbine corresponds to the rotational position of the second universal joint element about its own longitudinal axis, which rotational position geometrically corresponds to the rotational position of the floating wind turbine about the foundation element.
