Rope clasp
A rope clasp device for securing a rope eliminates the need for a knot in a rope by selectively clasping and encasing at least one portion of a rope in a toothed clamp. The rope clasp device comprises a base, at least one, but generally two swinging doors, and a lock. The swinging doors are pivotably coupled to the base in order to be moved between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, a pair of channels for passage of a rope is defined between the base and the doors. The channels are defined by a plurality of clasping teeth to retain the rope therein.

LINE TENSIONER
A line tensioner comprises a first attachment portion (2) for releasably fixing to a line (3). The first attachment portion (12) has a slot (4) with two opposing surfaces (5, 6) extending in a first direction from a throat (7) towards a mouth (8). The line (3) is receivable via the mouth (8) into releasable gripping engagement with the two opposing surfaces (5, 6). The line tensioner (1) also comprises a bearing portion (9), with the line (3) being slidably engagable with the bearing portion (9) for tensioning the line (3). The line tensioner (1) further comprises a second attachment portion (10) for releasably fixing to the line (3). The second attachment portion (10) has a slot (11) with two opposing surfaces (12, 13) extending in a second direction from a throat (14) towards a mouth (15). The line (3) is receivable via the mouth (15) into releasable gripping engagement with the two opposing surfaces (12, 13). The second direction is opposite to the first direction. Methods of tensioning a line using the line tensioner are also described.
Cam cleat
The instant invention is a cam cleat assembly that includes a base member, two removably mounted spindle pins and two rotationally mounted cam members having teeth for gripping rope, sails, twine cord or the like. The base plate includes a smooth transitioning ramp surface that allows for increased angular interaction with a rope or line member. The base plate also includes a pair of pockets sized to cooperate with the removable spindles for alignment and a more secure placement under heavy loads to minimize deflection of the spindles and thus the cam members. Removable and replaceable spindle pins are provided to allow easy replacement for extended life of the device. Seals are provided around the fasteners to allow quick and accurate reassembly while maintaining a watertight assembly to prevent the ingress of salt and/or water into the assembly from the mounting surface.

DEVICE FOR MOORING A WATER CRAFT TO A MOORING BERTH OF A PONTOON, AND CORRESPONDING PONTOON
A mooring device for mooring a water craft to a mooring berth. The mooring device includes an engaging element borne by the water craft or the mooring berth, and a lock borne by the mooring berth or the water craft, respectively. The lock includes two catch bars spaced out and extending vertically, at least a part of the engaging element being adapted to engaging between the two bars so as to be held by the lock and enabling the mooring of the water craft to the mooring berth. The catch bars are mobile relative to each other between a locking position in which the catch bars are brought closer to each other and maintain the engaging element and an unlocking position in which the catch bars are moved apart to enable the removal or insertion of the engaging element.
LINE CONNECTOR APPARATUS AND METHOD
A knotless connector is formed at the end of a tool to enable a rope or line to be connected thereto without the use of a knot. The knotless connector has an arcuate portion (i.e., a first member), a shank portion (i.e., a second member), and a side retaining portion (i.e., a third member). An eyelet is partially defined by the arcuate portion and a slot is defined between the shank portion and the side retaining portion. The eyelet and the slot both open in the same transverse direction. The tail end of the line may be wrapped around the shank portion and then the main line portion of the line may be passed through the eyelet. Thereafter, the tail end may also be passed through the eyelet to hold the main line portion of the line in place.
NODE LOCKS FOR MARINE DEPLOYMENT OF AUTONOMOUS SEISMIC NODES
Embodiments, including apparatuses, systems and methods, for attaching autonomous seismic nodes to a deployment cable. In an embodiment, an apparatus includes a seismic node having a direct attachment mechanism configured to directly attach the seismic node to a deployment line, the direct attachment mechanism being configurable between an open and/or unlocked position and a closed and/or locked position to release and retain the deployment line.
