System and method for energy management using linear programming
A system is disclosed including but not limited to a processor; a hybrid power source for servicing a system load, the hybrid power source comprising a natural gas engine, a diesel engine and a battery; a linear computer program comprising, instructions determining a current system load serviced by power provided from the hybrid power source; instructions to determine a current operating state for the natural gas engine, the diesel engine and the battery; instructions to use linear programming to determine a new operating state for the natural gas engine, the diesel engine and the battery to reduce for power consumption servicing the current system load the natural gas engine, the diesel engine and the battery; and instructions to replace the current operating state for the natural gas engine, the diesel engine and the battery to the new operating state for the natural gas engine, the diesel engine and the battery.
STABILIZED FLOATING PLATFORM STRUCTURE
A floating structure is described. The floating structure includes a floating platform disposed at a water surface, a mooring system and a dumping system. The mooring system is configured for mooring one side of the floating platform to a sea floor, thereby to permit rotation of the floating structure and to provide a desired orientation down-wind with respect to an anchor point. The dumping system is arranged at one side of the floating platform and is configured for absorbing wave energy and stresses imparted by the motion of waves in order to stabilize a horizontal position of the floating structure down-wind during a storm against the waves.
Porch mounted variable reluctance measurement technology tendon tension monitoring system
The invention relates to floating platform mooring and involves an improved platform mounted tendon tension monitoring system with porch-mounted variable reluctance measurement technology sensors configured. The variable reluctance measurement technology sensors of this system are optimized for porch mounting. The porch-mounted tendon tension monitoring system can also be configured such that the porch-mounted optimized variable reluctance measurement technology sensors are replaceable. Sensors may be replaced to extend the desired useful lifetime of a tendon tension monitoring system or in the event that a sensor happens to malfunction. A plurality of variable reluctance measurement technology sensors can be configured in sensor packs at the corners or at other locations where tendon tension monitoring can be useful for a floating platform.
OFFSHORE STRUCTURE HAVING AT LEAST ONE FAIRLEAD
Disclosed is a structure such as a floating structure, including at least one fairlead for guiding an anchoring element thereof at an anchoring point, the fairlead including a guide to guide the anchoring element in translation between the structure and the anchoring point, a unit for moving the anchoring element in translation in the guide in order to place the anchoring element under tension, and a lock to prevent the anchoring element from moving in translation in the guide, for mooring the structure to the anchoring point. The unit for moving the anchoring element in translation in the guide is integrated into a distinct part separate from the rest of the structure of the fairlead, and this part and the rest of the structure of the fairlead include the retractable coupling unit thereof.
Anchor rope system for an offshore device
An anchor rope system for an offshore device for fixing an offshore device to a subsea floor. The anchor rope system includes at least one anchor rope surrounded by at least one sheathing. The anchor rope system includes at least one condition sensor formed by at least one fiber optic cable.
CRAWL-DOWN INSTALLATION METHOD FOR A TENSION LEG PLATFORM
A method for installing or removing a tension-leg platform with at least three tendon porches, and its tendons, the method includes grasping each of three or more extended tendons by a respective one jacking tool on one tendon porch, wherein the platform is being stabilized by at least three jacking tools each applying tension on the respective extended tendon. Extended tendons are created by connecting one or more tendon extension piece end-to-end from a tendon.
FLOATING DRILLER
A floating driller having a hull, a main deck, an upper cylindrical side section extending downwardly from the main deck, an upper frustoconical side section, a cylindrical neck section, a lower ellipsoidal section that extends from the cylindrical neck section, and a fin-shaped appendage secured to a lower and an outer portion of the exterior of a bottom surface. The upper frustoconical side section located below the upper cylindrical side section and maintained to be above the water line for a transport depth and partially below the water line for an operational depth of the floating driller.
Floating, yawing spar current/tidal turbine
The present invention describes a floating yawing spar buoy current/tidal turbine. The spar includes a spreader above the rotor(s) with the spreader tips connected to fore and aft cable yokes that transition to opposing mooring lines connected to anchors on the seabed. The spreader comprises a yaw motor, which drives gears that engage with a ring gear fixed to the outer perimeter of the spar.
Autonomous Submersible Offshore Marine Platform
It is an object of the present invention to provide a means of constructing an Autonomous fully-Submersible Offshore Marine Platform (ASOMP) of considerable warfighting or commercial capability which is mobile and can autonomously transport to a hazardous operating area in a low-observable reduced vulnerability manner, fully submerge to avoid the military or environmental threat hazard, hibernate until needed, perform fully submerged mobility and mission operations, surface and provide Barge and SWATH surface ship mobility and mission operations, resubmerge if the hazardous threat appears and relocate to a new operating area. Another object of the present invention is to provide a fully autonomous and submersible low-cost lily-pad that surfaces when called and provides a main deck platform at appropriate freeboard and seakeeping motions to function as a refueling landing zone and pier to extend the range of aircraft and marine vehicles operating in a high-threat environment.
Wind power generation system
A wind power generation system comprising: a wind power generation equipment having a rotor which is operative to convert energy of received wind to rotational energy, a rotatable nacelle which supports the rotor, a tower which supports the rotatable nacelle, a floating body which supports the tower and at least a part of the floating body is positioned above the surface of the sea, a fixing member which is installed or fixed on the sea bed, a mooring member which couples the floating body and the fixing member, wherein the mooring member is coupled to the floating body at place upward of the center of gravity of the floating body and the wind power generation equipment, and the floating body is practically supported by one fixing member.
