Turret mooring system

Disclosed herein is a turret mooring system for a tidal turbine assembly 150, which increases the ratio of the torque exerted by the turret 100 relative to frictional forces between the turret 100 and the assembly 150 moored to the turret 100. In some examples, the frictional forces are reduced by the turret providing an upward force to the assembly, which also resists pitching moments. In other examples, the torque exerted by the turret 100 is increased by the use of a bifurcated mooring line 106, 108 which couples to two spaced apart attachment points 128 on a chain table 104 of the turret 100 and to a single point 114 on the water bed.

ASYMMETRIC FLOATING WIND TURBINE INSTALLATION

A floating wind turbine installation including an asymmetric floating wind turbine structure that is tethered to the floor of a body of water by a mooring system. The floating wind turbine structure includes a wind turbine mounted on a semi-submersible floating platform, and is oriented such that the wind turbine is positioned on an upwind side of the centre of mass of the floating wind turbine structure when the wind approaches the wind turbine structure in the direction of the prevailing wind at the location of the wind turbine installation.

SUBSEA CONFIGURATION FOR FLOATING STRUCTURES OF AN OFFSHORE WIND FARM

An offshore wind farm includes at least four floating structures designed to receive a wind turbine, with each floating structure having at least three mooring lines, and each mooring line is attached to a mooring point arranged around said floating structure. The mooring lines facing inward from the offshore wind farm form the inner mooring lines of the offshore wind farm and the mooring lines facing outward from the offshore wind farm form the peripheral mooring lines of the offshore wind farm, wherein two adjacent floating structures have at least one of their peripheral mooring lines crossing each other, with at least one of these peripheral mooring lines comprising a buoyancy element.

The present invention related to a seabed tensioner (30), a vessel tensioner (130) and an inline tensioner (230) for tensioning an anchor chain (20) in a mooring arrangement, said tensioners comprises a chain roller (32) with sprockets supported on a first support axle (42) within a housing (34), wherein a first part of the housing is arranged to accommodate the anchor chain (20) running around the chain roller (32), and a second part of the housing (34) has an attachment for an anchor line (16) or to a floating structure (12), said first and second parts of the housing (34) are facing in opposite directions. The present invention further discloses systems and methods for mooring a floating structure.

Disconnectable mooring system
12466519 · 2025-11-11 · ·

A disconnectable mooring system for offshore semi-submersible floating structures. A disconnectable buoy has a number of mooring lines which include a buoy chain between the mooring chain and the buoy. The mooring chain and the buoy chain are connected via a three way mooring connector, with the third connection configured to pull the mooring connector to a mooring point on the structure. In a first configuration the buoy is disconnected and supports the mooring chains for recovery at shallow depths to be pulled in. In a second configuration, the mooring lines are pulled in via the mooring connectors thereby providing a spread mooring to the structure with the buoy chain left as a catenary between the buoy and mooring point.

ANCHORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING AND UNINSTALLING THE ANCHORING SYSTEM

Anchoring system having a floating platform from which first anchoring lines emerge, an anchoring block with at least three non-aligned anchoring points, a central float swinging arms being joined by a joint to the block, the joint located in an intermediate area so that each arm has an internal section and an external section, the internal section located between the intermediate area and an inner free end, and the outer section located between the intermediate area and an outer free end, the inner end closer to the central float than the outer end, so that first anchoring lines leaving the floating platform are joined to the outer free ends. The system has second anchoring lines between the central float and the inner end portions containing the inner free ends of the inner sections of the arms. Also a method of install and uninstalling such a system.
