A BUOYANT ROTATABLE MARINE TRANSDUCER
The present invention is concerned with a buoyant rotatable marine transducer and a load reduction device defined by the buoyant rotatable marine transducer, and in particular a load reduction device for use in securing an offshore structure such as a floating platform or the like, as are common in the areas of marine renewables, oil and gas applications, aquaculture, the buoyant rotatable marine transducer having a buoyant body adapted to assume a first orientation when at least partially submerged in a body of water and unloaded, in which a longitudinal axis of the body is disposed substantially vertically, and first and second mooring connection points provided on the body wherein at least the first mooring connection point is positioned such that a load applied via the first mooring connection point to the body acts off axis of the longitudinal axis.
Subsea installation method and assembly
An assembly for installing an object under water at a desired location, including a vessel arranged to carry the object; a submersible frame; and a connection between the object and the submersible frame. In use the vessel is spatially separated from the submersible frame along the direction of the water surface. The object, the connection and the submersible frame are arranged such that, when releasing the object from the vessel, the object becomes submerged and carries out a pendulum motion until the object is suspended from the submersible frame.
Disconnectable tower yoke mooring system and methods for using same
A yoke mooring system and method for disconnecting a moored vessel from a tower structure. The system can include a support structure with one or more extension arms suspended from the support structure. A ballast tank can be connected to the one or more extension arms, and a yoke can extend from and connect to the ballast tank. The yoke can include a tower connector disposed on a second end thereof for connecting to the tower structure. A first winch system can be located on the support structure and connect to the yoke proximate a second end of the yoke via a first line or cable. A second winch system can be connected to the ballast tank via a second line or cable.
Rotary Cam Operated Release Mechanism
A release mechanism for a tether assembly. A circular base ring has a central opening sized to accept a connecting member, and a plurality of radial slots. Dogs are disposed in the radial slots, and movable radially inwardly and outwardly. A cam ring having angled slots is operatively connected to the base ring, with upturned ends on the dogs engaged in the angled slots. Relative rotation between the cam ring and the base ring, by hydraulic cylinders connecting the two rings, moves the dogs radially inwardly and outwardly. In their radially inward position the dogs engage a circumferential groove in an elongated connecting member, thereby connecting the tether assembly.
DREDGE STABILIZATION AND MOVEMENT SYSTEM
A marine positioning system can have a floating platform, an external vessel, a positioning module, and a control module. The external vessel can be configured to selectively tow and maintain the floating platforming in a preselected position. The external vessel can have a propulsion unit. The propulsion unit can be configured to propel the floating platform in a preselected direction between 0 and 360 degrees. The control module can be in communication with the propulsion unit and the positioning module. The control module can be configured to receive the location data from the positioning module. Also, the control module can be configured to determine if the floating platform is in the preselecting position. In addition, the control module can be configured to generate instructions including the preselected direction that the floating platform needs to travel to be positioned in the preselected position.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING A MOORING LINE TO A BODY
The disclosed invention relates to a connecting system for connecting a mooring line to a body comprising a first part being attached to the mooring line and connected with a pin having two ends, to a second part being attached to the body and having an arrangement for guiding the pin into a hang-off structure in the second part where the hang-off structure substantially comprises at least one hook. The system is characterized by a connecting structure for a temporary pulling means mounted on the first part in transverse direction to its longitudinal axis and eccentrically to an axial center of gravity of the first part. The invention relates also to a method regarding the application of the system.
Vessel with transfer installation for transferring persons and cargo from the vessel towards an offshore construction
A vessel (1) with a transfer installation for cargo and persons towards an offshore construction (12) comprises means for stabilizing its position at sea relative to the offshore construction (12), a telescopically extendable beam assembly (2) that comprises telescopable beam elements (2a, 2b), which beam assembly (2) with its one outer end (15) is rotatably connected to the vessel (1) by means of an axle system (7a, 8a, 9a), and a driving device designed to bring the other outer end (16) of the telescopically extendable beam assembly (2) in contact with a landing provision (13) of the offshore construction (12). The telescopically extendable beam assembly (2) is provided with means for moving a transportation carriage (14) back and forth between both outer ends (15, 16) along the telescopically extendable beam assembly (2), wherein the transportation carriage (14) is provided with a support (20) for carrying the cargo and persons.
MOORING LINE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY AND TENSIONER
A mooring line connector assembly (1) and a corresponding tensioner (28) are described. The mooring line connector assembly (1) comprises complementary male (2) and female (3) connectors, wherein the male connector (2) is rigid and the female connector (3) is connectable to the male connector (2) at a plurality of points along its length, so as to vary the tension applied to the mooring line. Locking balls engageable with grooves disposed along the length of the male connector (2) can allow the female connector to connect at different points along the male connector. A tensioner (28) allows the tension to be adjusted. The tensioner includes a first part (29) arranged to engage with the male connector (2) and a second part (29) arranged to engage with the female connector (3). The first part (29) reciprocates relative to the second part so as to move the male connector (2) relative to the female connector and thereby change the point at which the female connector is connected to the male connector.
