ROTATING JOINT DEVICE FOR A FLUID ENERGY EXPLOITATION INSTALLATION, OFFSHORE PLATFORM TYPE, AND INSTALLATION COMPRISING SUCH A DEVICE
A rotary joint device of an installation for exploiting energy includes a first annular part that is secured to a fixed mooring turret of the installation, a second annular part rotatably movable about an axis of rotation and in relation to the first fixed annular part and that is secured to a movable ship of the installation, and at least one dynamic sealing member housed inside a gap space located between the first fixed annular part and the second movable annular part and provided with a body portion and with at least one first lip that projects from the body portion. Also described is an energy exploitation installation including such a rotary joint device.
Wind power plant
A wind power plant comprises a platform having a deck and a frame. The frame comprises a plurality of generator stations, each configured for receiving and supporting a respective removable wind turbine generator. Generator conveyance means are configured and arranged for moving a wind turbine generator between the deck and a generator station. The wind turbine generator comprises a housing in which a turbine is rotatably arranged. The turbine comprising a plurality of blades interconnected by a peripheral rim; and the rim comprises a plurality of magnets. The housing comprises a plurality of coils arranged in close proximity to the peripheral rim. The platform may be a floating platform, supported by at least a main hull, connectable to a seabed via turret mooring, whereby the power plant is allowed to weathervane.
SUSPENSION OF TURRET BEARING UNITS
A suspension of axial turret bearing units in a turret bearing comprises a rail support structure mounted on a turret bearing support structure, a circular rail mounted on the rail support structure, a plurality of axial bearing units running on rail, a shaft for each axial bearing unit with the bearing unit attached to the outer end of the shaft, and an inner support structure for supporting the inner end of each shaft. The suspension further comprises an outer shaft suspension close to each bearing unit, comprising a collar with an inner width similar to the width of the shaft and an inner height higher than the height of the shaft, a transitional section connected to the collar, a plate section connected to the transitional section and fastened to a bearing support structure on the turret, wherein the plate section spreads applied loads on the structure.
Mooring line connector assembly for connecting a mooring line to a floating structure
Disclosed is a mooring line connector assembly for connecting a mooring line to a floating structure, including: a tubular housing connectable to the floating structure, having a lower housing end and an upper housing end with an inner circumference; a connector body extending along a connector axis, having an upper connector body end and a lower connector body end connected to the mooring line; a guiding body rotatably arranged on the connector body to be freely rotatable around the connector body and the connector axis, including first rotation unit on an outer surface of the guiding body and a guiding part having an outer circumference at an upper guiding body end; and second rotation unit arranged on an inner surface of the tubular housing, arranged for engaging the first rotation unit.
Floating System For An Offshore Wind Turbine
The floating system is a single column tension leg platform for a floating offshore wind turbine (SCTLP). The single column tension leg platform comprises a central main vertical floating column, a buoyant base attached to and disposed below the central main vertical floating column, a station keeping system attached to the buoyant base, and an inter array cable riser system. The buoyant base is of one of a triangular shape and a circular shape.
Offshore drilling vessel
An offshore drilling vessel including a hull having a moonpool, a bow and a stern, an accommodation topside having crew quarters and a bridge, said accommodation topside being arranged on the hull at the bow, a main deck between the accommodation topside and the stern of the vessel, wherein a front main deck portion of the main deck extends forward of the moonpool and a rear main deck portion of the main deck extends rearward of the moonpool, a firing line hoist system mounted on the hull at said moonpool, including a drilling structure, a hoisting device supported by the drilling structure and having a load attachment device displaceable along a firing line, the hoisting device including one or more cables and one or more associated winches to manipulate the position of the load attachment device relative to the drilling structure, one or more pivotal burner booms, each burner boom having an inner portion pivotally mounted at a lateral side of the hull and an outer portion supporting a burner, the burner boom being pivotable between a storage position generally parallel to the side of the hull and an operative position wherein the boom is directed away from the hull, the burner boom in the storage position being lower than the level of the main deck.
Bearing support system and method for a turret on a vessel
A bearing system for a rotating turret mounted on a vessel includes upper radial and axial bearings placed on a stiff bearing support ring. The bearing support ring is isolated from deflections in the vessel's caisson. Through the isolation, the radial and axial bearings are less affected by deflection of the vessel for example due to waves. The bearing support ring is supported vertically by a system of hydraulic cylinders serviced by multiple hydraulic systems for redundancy. The bearing support ring alternatively can be supported by an articulated steel structure.
Arctic drilling process
A process for drilling a well into the seafloor at an offshore drilling location, in particular in arctic regions, the process comprising: drilling a top hole part of the well during a winter season where the water at the drilling location is at least partly covered by ice; and initiating drilling a lower part of the well extending into a hydrocarbon-bearing formation during a subsequent off-winter season where the water is less ice infested than during the winter season.
Toroidal fluid swivel for transfer of fluid across a rotary interface
A swivel for transfer of fluid across a rotary interface around a swivel rotation axis between an incoming fluid line and an outgoing product piping includes a fixed annular element and a rotating annular element, each arranged around a common rotation axis and having a substantially equal diameter. One selected element from the fixed annular and rotating annular elements includes an annular disk provided with a toroidal cavity in a first of its circular end surfaces, and the other selected element is arranged with a flat circular end surface adjacent to and in close proximity above the first circular end surface to close the toroidal cavity and form a toroidal chamber with the annular disk. The rotary interface is perpendicular to the rotation axis, and is formed by the flat circular end surface of the other selected element and the adjacent first circular surface of the one selected element.
Floating system for an offshore wind turbine
