Surfboard rear foot pocket
11267540 · 2022-03-08 ·

A foot pocket comprising a main body and a traction pad for attachment to the tail end of a surfboard deck. The main body provides a pocket for the surfer's foot so the surfer may push back or lift up the tail end of the surfboard with the rear foot while maintaining a secure rear foot point of contact with the surfboard. The traction pad material has a surface that is easy to grip with the surfers rear foot and is permanently affixed to the front side of the main body and extends forward onto the surfboard deck for the surfer to stand on while surfing. The foot pocket can be made with or without a cut-out for the surfers ankle. The foot pocket features a flat base for attachment to the deck of the surfboard by adhesive.

Enhanced surfboard and surfboard traction pad

An enhanced surfboard and surfboard traction pad comprising permanent or interchangeable and detachable bases and/or top pieces that extend up, over and behind the leash pin in a uniquely designed surfboard optimally shaped for mounting said traction pad, or a regular surfboard modified to fit said traction pad. Said traction pad can be configured to have a ramped face, and optionally a ramp to a vertical face and a ramp to a vertical and angled, curved or horizontal overhang that creates a pocket for the surfer's foot to push the tail of the surfboard back with the outside edge of the rear foot against the vertical face of the traction pad or lift the tail end of the surfboard up by pressing with the top of the rear foot against underside of said overhang for aid in executing aggressive turns and aerial manuevers.

Sports equipment

A release mechanism is provided for releasably connecting a strap to sports equipment. The strap is secured at a first end to the sports equipment and at a second end to the release mechanism. The release mechanism has a fastening part releasably connected to an engagement element. The engagement element interacts with a fastening part bail element that is pivotable about a pivot axle between a release position and an engaged position with the engagement element. The bail element can be secured in the engaged position by a securing element. The securing element and bail element are secured to the fastening part such that the distance between the pivot axle of the bail element and the securing element changes when a tensile load is applied to the bail element. The securing element releases the bail element when a defined release tensile force is exerted on the bail element.

Electric surfboard

Disclosed is an electric surfboard that can determine whether or not a user is on board while the surfboard is working, and if not, can stop operation of the surfboard, and that can naturally cool heat generated from a control unit and a motor unit. The electric surfboard includes a surfboard housing, foot bindings which are put on a user, a step-out detecting unit for creating a magnetic field and attracted to the housing by a magnetic force, as well as being physically coupled to an ankle strap, in which if the user steps out of the surfboard, the step-out detecting unit being detached from the housing, thereby detecting step-out of the user, and a control unit receiving a step-out detecting signal outputted from the step-out detecting unit to send a signal for stopping operation of the surfboard.

Apparatus and method to aid water sport board maneuvers

An apparatus and method for decreasing the difficulty of executing a “pop-up” maneuver on a water sport board, such as a surfboard, is disclosed. Said apparatus consists of either one or two devices attached to the surfboard at the location where a user places his hands to execute the pop-up maneuver. Said devices move the user's hands away from the deck of the surfboard, creating more space between the surfer and the board during the pop-up maneuver, facilitating the user to swing the user into position and execute the pop-up maneuver.

Method of increasing the stability of a surfer on a surfboard, surfboard (variants) and device for increasing the stability of a surfer on a surfboard
10953958 · 2021-03-23 ·

A device is proposed, increasing stability of a surfer on a surfboard. It includes an anchoring means connected to the surfboard, in turn, including a negative pressure chamber, a receiving chamber, its nozzle, and an outlet pipe. At least one surfer's foot is anchored by the anchoring means to the surfboard, when it's in motion, by a suction flow formed in water by the negative pressure chamber. The suction flow is conveyed via the pipe to the point where the foot contacts with the surfboard, so that the foot is adhered thereto by negative pressure. The device's first embodiment further includes a fin disposed on the underside rear part of the surfboard, while the anchoring means is disposed inside or on the fin. A second embodiment envisages the anchoring means disposed in a depression made in the underside. The depression is open at the surfboard's bottom, forming a channel.
