Enhanced surfboard and surfboard traction pad
11267541 · 2022-03-08 ·

An enhanced surfboard and surfboard traction pad comprising permanent or interchangeable and detachable bases and/or top pieces that extend up, over and behind the leash pin in a uniquely designed surfboard optimally shaped for mounting said traction pad, or a regular surfboard modified to fit said traction pad. Said traction pad can be configured to have a ramped face, and optionally a ramp to a vertical face and a ramp to a vertical and angled, curved or horizontal overhang that creates a pocket for the surfer's foot to push the tail of the surfboard back with the outside edge of the rear foot against the vertical face of the traction pad or lift the tail end of the surfboard up by pressing with the top of the rear foot against underside of said overhang for aid in executing aggressive turns and aerial manuevers.

Electric surfboard

Disclosed is an electric surfboard that can determine whether or not a user is on board while the surfboard is working, and if not, can stop operation of the surfboard, and that can naturally cool heat generated from a control unit and a motor unit. The electric surfboard includes a surfboard housing, foot bindings which are put on a user, a step-out detecting unit for creating a magnetic field and attracted to the housing by a magnetic force, as well as being physically coupled to an ankle strap, in which if the user steps out of the surfboard, the step-out detecting unit being detached from the housing, thereby detecting step-out of the user, and a control unit receiving a step-out detecting signal outputted from the step-out detecting unit to send a signal for stopping operation of the surfboard.

Adjustable surfboard fin and method of use
11046396 · 2021-06-29 ·

A surfboard fin assembly for the flush incorporation into a surfboard body that allows for adjusting the depth the fin extends below the surfboard. It has a biasing means that maintains the fin in the down position yet allows upward movement upon the application of upward force such as when the fin is struck from below. The fin is perpendicularly affixed to a hinge body that is pivotally housed in an open ended fin box that is integrated into the volume of the surfboard body. A means for tensioning is releasably attached at a distal end to the hinge body and at a proximal end to the surfer's ankle. The height of the fin is adjustable through the means for tensioning and sets the performance of the surfboard to the surfer's desired level of directional control depending on their type of surfing. The fin or fin and hinge body are interchangeable with other design of fins.

Rotational leash plug system for surf boards
20210171160 · 2021-06-10 · ·

The invention discloses a rotational leash plug system for surf boards including an outer ring housing, a spherical or cylindrical element, in particular a ball or a cylinder, a stainless steel or brass pin attached to the rolling element and a bottom cap. A safety surf leash is attached to the pin centered in the ball to achieve a safety connection between surfer, in particular attached to the leg of the surfer, and a surfboard. The rotational element is free to rotate in x, y, and z axis inside the outer ring housing and the bottom cap. The spherical element is able to follow the force vector of the leash pulling the pin. The surf plug system can therefore follow the movement of the safety surf leash and or the surfer attached to the leash as soon as there is a pull force applied to the pin inside the surf plug system.

QUICK RELEASE LEASH
20210100219 · 2021-04-08 ·

A quick release leash which includes a flexible leash line that terminates in a male member of a quick release coupling. The quick release coupling has a female receiver which receives the male member in mating relation. A locking pin passage that intersects the female receiver. The male member of the quick release coupling has an aperture. A locking pin is axially movable in the locking pin passage and is biased by a biasing member into engagement with the aperture of the male member. When a force is exerted upon a manual release sufficient to overcome the biasing force of biasing member, the first end of the locking pin is withdrawn from the aperture of the male member and the male member is released. This quick release leash was developed as a safety device for water sports to quickly release a person from their board, but has wider application.
