Surf wake system for a watercraft

An adjustable surf wake system enhances a wake formed by a watercraft travelling through water. The system may include a flap for deflecting water traveling past the stern of the watercraft, and/or a positioner operably connected to the flap for positioning the flap relative to a longitudinal axis of the watercraft between a neutral position and an outward position. Positioning a port flap in its extended position enhances a starboard surf wake, and positioning the starboard flap in its extended position enhances a port surf wake.

Wakeboat ballast pump systems and methods are provided to monitor the operational condition and parameters of wakeboat ballast components. Systems and methods for sensing and measurement are provided to detect parameters associated with wakeboat ballast pumps and compartments, including systems and methods that can economically retrofit into existing wakeboat ballast systems. Systems and methods are also provided to enable automated action based on various operational conditions and parameters to improve the safety, automation, performance, convenience, and marketing advantage of wakeboat ballast pumps.

Methods and apparatus for facilitating watercraft planing

A watercraft can include a foil configured for movement between an undeployed position and a first deployed position in which the foil raises the relative position of the watercraft relative to the water line as the watercraft moves forward through the water, thereby facilitating planing of the watercraft. The foil can be configured for movement to a second deployed position in which the foil lowers the relative position of the stern end of the watercraft as the watercraft moves forward through the water, thereby modifying the wake produced by the watercraft.

BOAT HAVING AN IMPROVED ABILITY TO GET ON PLANE AND IMPROVED METHOD OF GETTING A BOAT ON PLANE

A boat includes at least three trim devices positioned aft of the boat's transom. To improve the boat's ability to get on place, each trim device is initially positioned to a deployed position. The speed of the boat is then determined as the boat gains speed. When the speed of the boat exceeds a first predetermined threshold, the first trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a second predetermined threshold, the second trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a third predetermined threshold, the third trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. At least one of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds is different from the other two of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds.

Wake Adjustment System For Boats And Boat Connector Bracket Useful With The Wake Adjustment System

A wake adjustment system for a boat may include a wake adjustment device mountable at the stern of the boat to deflect water moving past a stern trailing edge of the boat's running surface. The wake adjustment device includes water deflectors that are rotatable about a first pivot axis for varying a degree of wake adjustment. The wake adjustment device is mounted to the boat proximal to the centerline.

Wake-modifying device for a boat

A recreational sport boat includes a hull, having starboard and port sides and a transom, and a pair of wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. One of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a port side of the boat's centerline and another of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a starboard side of the boat's centerline. Each wake-modifying device includes a plate-like member and at least one downturned surface at a trailing portion of the plate-like member. Each wake-modifying device is pivotable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position about a pivot axis that is horizontal or inclined no more than about 35 from horizontal. When a wake-modifying device is in the deployed position, the downturned surface is lower than it is in the non-deployed position so as to be able to modify the boat's wake.

A boat hull with port and starboard side walls that are vertical in cross section while the bottom of the hull immediately prior to the commencement of the stern part there-after is horizontal in cross section. Extending throughout the buoyant hulls stem part a longitudinally rectangular flat plate with port and starboard upwardly extending side walls, one each side, are located throughout the length of the vessels stem part. An upwardly directed second rectangular flat plate is arranged fore/aft extends midway between the aforecustom character side walls to a height in excess of the side walls. This upstanding plate butts its lowermost edge onto the mid-line of the first plate. Linking the forward edge of the longitudinally rectangular plate to the buoyant hull at its aftmost and deepest point are hinges.

The present invention provides a detachable wake modifying device that can be placed on either the port or starboard side of a boat platform due to the reversible design of the mount and its attachment to the remainder of the wake assembly. The mount has an open channel design that receives a lateral adjustment arm. An angular adjustment arm hinges between the lateral adjustment arm and the wake tab. The wake tab also hinges to the lateral adjustment arm, forming a triangular structure between the wake tab, lateral adjustment arm, and the angular adjustment arm. In this way, the angle of the wake tab can be adjusted to create a desirable wake in the water behind a motor boat, which is suitable for wake surfing.

A device for modifying a wake of a marine vessel having a hull. The hull extends between a bow and a transom in a longitudinal direction and between sides in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The sides each extend between a top and a bottom in a vertical direction that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and to the lateral direction. A panel is movably coupled to one of the sides of the hull and movable into and between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the stowed position, the panel extends along the one of the sides of the hull. The panel moves laterally outwardly away from the one of the sides of the hull when moving toward the deployed position. Moving the panel from the stowed position to the deployed position causes the panel to modify the wake of the marine vessel.
