CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR WATER-SPORTS WATERCRAFT
An adjustable surf wake system can enhance a wake formed by a watercraft travelling through water. A rider control device can enable a rider to control the wake of the watercraft while riding the wake, such as for wake surfing. The rider can adjust the speed of the watercraft, can adjust the height of the wake, and/or can change the watercraft between a surf-left configuration and a surf-right configuration. The rider control device can include a position sensor. A drone can position a camera based on the position sensor of the rider control device for filming the rider.
SURF WAKE SYSTEM FOR A WATERCRAFT
An adjustable surf wake system enhances a wake formed by a watercraft travelling through water. The system may include a flap for deflecting water traveling past the stern of the watercraft, and/or a positioner operably connected to the flap for positioning the flap relative to a longitudinal axis of the watercraft between a neutral position and an outward position. Positioning a port flap in its extended position enhances a starboard surf wake, and positioning the starboard flap in its extended position enhances a port surf wake. A wake modifying system for modifying a wake produced by a watercraft traveling through water may include a rudder pivotally mounted to the watercraft for steering the watercraft, a fin pivotally mounted to the watercraft substantially along a centerline of the watercraft and forward the rudder, wherein the fin pivots about an upright axis to modify the wake produced by the watercraft traveling through the water, an actuator mounted within the watercraft and operably coupled to the fin for pivoting the fin relative to the centerline, and a controller mounted on the watercraft allowing an operator to control the actuator and selectively pivot the fin to a desired angle d relative to the centerline.
Marine vessels having a modifiable wake and devices for modifying a wake of a marine vessel
A device for modifying a wake of a marine vessel hull. The hull extends between a bow and a transom and laterally between sides. An underside of the hull extends between the sides and between the bow and the transom. The device includes an appendage with a first panel fixed to a second panel. The appendage is configured to be movably coupled to the hull to move between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the stowed position the first panel extends along one of the sides of the hull and the second panel extends along the underside of the hull. The first panel moves laterally outwardly away from the side of the hull and the second panel moves vertically away from the underside of the hull when the appendage moves toward the deployed position. Moving the appendage to the deployed position modifies the wake of the marine vessel.

Surf tab
A wake-modifying a surf tab that can be attached to a watercraft is disclosed. That surf tab includes a control plate assembly, a mounting hinge for attaching the control plate assembly to a watercraft, a hydro-thruster assembly, and a separation hinge attaching the control plate assembly to the hydro-thruster assembly. Also included is an actuator attached to the control plate assembly which connects the control plate assembly to the watercraft such that the actuator can control the angle between the control plate assembly and the watercraft. a length adjustable control rod assembly connects the control plate assembly to the hydro-thruster assembly. The control rod assembly adjusts the angle between the control plate assembly and the hydro-thruster assembly. In use, the length of the actuator and the length of the control rod assembly can change the flow of water from the hydro-thruster assembly to modify a wake created by a watercraft.
A boat hull with a pivotally mounted hydrodynamic appendage
A boat hull with port and starboard side walls that are vertical in cross section whilst the bottom of the hull immediately prior to the commencement of the stern part there-after is horizontal in cross section. Extending throughout the buoyant hulls stern part a longitudinally rectangular flat plate with port and starboard upwardly extending side walls, one each side, are located throughout the length of the vessels stern part. An upwardly directed second rectangular flat plate is arranged fore/aft extends midway between the afore-said side walls to a height in excess of the said side walls. This upstanding plate butts its lowermost edge onto the mid-line of the first said plate. Linking the forward edge of the said longitudinally rectangular plate to the buoyant hull at its aftmost and deepest point are hinges. Thereby allowing an aftwardly upward pivotal movement of the said combined plate, whilst the afore-said upwardly extending fin of the said combination plate to locate within an aftwardly open slot casing that is additionally open upwardly and downwardly, into which the said combination plate moveably but securely fits. Means with which to raise/lower the combination plate are provided. Single or multiple combination plates, as described, operate independently or together.
Surf tab
A wake-shaping system comprising a one or more surf tabs attached to a watercraft. The one or more surf tabs comprise at least a first surf tab. The first surf tab comprises an upper plate, a mounting hinge, a lower portion, a one or more mounting brackets comprising at least a first mounting bracket. A hydro-thruster assembly having a one or more hydro-thruster diversion fins. further, the first surf tab comprises a leading edge, a trailing edge, an interior side, an exterior side, a top side and a bottom side. The upper plate is rotatably attached to a portion of the watercraft with the mounting hinge. The watercraft travels through a water in a direction of travel. The leading edge comprises a forward portion of first surf tab relative to the direction of travel and the trailing edge comprises a rearward portion.
Wake-Modifying Device for a Boat
A recreational sport boat includes a hull, having starboard and port sides and a transom, and a wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. The wake-modifying device includes a plate-like member and at least one downturned surface. The wake-modifying device is pivotable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position about a pivot axis. When a wake-modifying device is in the deployed position, the downturned surface is lower than it is in the non-deployed position so as to be able to modify the boat's wake.
