Control system for water sports boat with foil displacement system

A foil displacement system includes one or more foils that can be deployed and stowed. When deployed, each foil can exert downforce or uplift depending on its orientation. For example, each foil may be positioned to have an angle of attack that creates a downward force effectively transmitted to the hull to pull the hull deeper within the water to, for example, create a larger wake. Use of the foil displacement system can enhance or replace the use of a ballast tank system, can be integrated into a new boat or retrofitted to existing boats, can be electronically or manually positioned, can enhance activities such as wake surfing, wake boarding, water skiing or other similar or related water sports.

Enhanced wave generation methods and systems

Apparatus and associated methods relate to configuring a watercraft propulsion system and control surface to generate a higher rate flow and a lower rate flow governed by the watercraft's yaw slip angle, adjusting the rate difference between the higher rate flow and the lower rate flow based on adjusting the yaw slip angle determined as a function of the control surface position and the propulsion system thrust vector, and directing by the watercraft the higher rate flow to converge with the lower rate flow to create a wave. The propulsion system may be a plurality of independently adjustable propulsion methods permitting propulsion system differential thrust vector adjustment. The control surface may be adjustable 360 degrees in the plane of the watercraft longitudinal axis. The yaw slip angle may be adjusted based on sensor information. Exemplary implementations may increase wave quality and improve maneuverability of a watercraft configured to create waves.

WATER FLOW DEFLECTION DEVICE FOR A WATERCRAFT AND METHODS OF USE

A water flow deflection device attached to a side of a watercraft to enhance the watercraft's wake. The device having a narrow, elongated base with two ends and a base width, the base aligned along the side of the watercraft when the device is attached to the watercraft. A deflector attached to the base between the two ends and having a face spanning between a leading end and an opposing end, the leading end extending outwardly from the base. The deflector face having a surface area configured to deflect water and a deflector width greater than the base width. The base removably attachable to the watercraft by a plurality of suction cup assemblies, wherein a greater number of suction cup assemblies located between the first end and the leading end of the deflector than between the second end and the leading end of the deflector.
