POSTURE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HULL, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND MARINE VESSEL
20210188406 · 2021-06-24 ·

A posture control system for a hull includes trim tab main bodies as posture control plates attached to a stern of the hull to control the posture of the hull. Trim tab actuators drive the trim tab main bodies. Engines generate a propulsive force on the hull. A controller controls the trim tab actuators. Based on a throttle opening angle of the engines, the controller determines a time when the trim tab main bodies are to be lowered by the trim tab actuators.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STEERING CONTROL OF MARINE VESSEL ABLE TO AUTOMATICALLY REDUCE CHINE WALK, AND MARINE VESSEL
20210188409 · 2021-06-24 ·

A steering control apparatus for a marine vessel that is able to automatically reduce chine walk includes a processor to obtain behavior information on a hull, including one or more of a behavior relating to a shift of the hull in a roll direction, a shift of the hull in a yaw direction, a shift of the hull in crosswise direction, a steering load, and a helm operation load. When judging that one or more conditions to change a steering mode to a counter steering mode are satisfied, the processor changes the steering mode to the counter steering mode. In the counter steering mode, the processor controls steering of the marine vessel by performing counter steering so as to reduce at least some of one or more of the behaviors of the hull based on the obtained behavior information.

Wake-Modifying Device for a Boat

A recreational sport boat includes a hull, having starboard and port sides and a transom, and a pair of wake-modifying devices positioned aft of the transom. One of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a port side of the boat's centerline and another of the wake-modifying devices is positioned on a starboard side of the boat's centerline. Each wake-modifying device includes a plate-like member and at least one downturned surface at a trailing portion of the plate-like member. Each wake-modifying device is pivotable between a non-deployed position and a deployed position about a pivot axis that is horizontal or inclined no more than about 35° from horizontal. When a wake-modifying device is in the deployed position, the downturned surface is lower than it is in the non-deployed position so as to be able to modify the boat's wake.

Wakeboat hull control systems and methods

A wakeboat includes a hull; a thruster associated with the hull of the wakeboat, the thruster configured to selectively impart lateral force to the hull; an operator control in the wakeboat configured to control a parameter of the wakeboat other than the thruster; a thruster control associated with the operator control, the thruster control selectively receiving input from the operator to control the thruster, the thruster control positioned to be operable with at least the same hand and/or fingers already operating the operator control. Other systems and methods for controlling a wakeboat are also provided.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR POSTURE CONTROL TABS OF MARINE VESSEL, MARINE VESSEL, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POSTURE CONTROL TABS OF MARINE VESSEL THAT ARE CAPABLE OF ASSISTING OPERATIONS OF STEERING CONTROL
20210107617 · 2021-04-15 ·

A control system for posture control tabs of a marine vessel assists operations of a steering control. The posture control tabs are mounted on a stern of a hull to move up or down to control a posture of the hull. Actuators actuate the respective posture control tabs. When a steering instruction is provided through the steering control, a processor determines the posture control tab to be actuated and controls the actuator corresponding to the posture control tab determined to be actuated so as to change the position of the determined posture control tab.

Transom mounted bracket for a fluid hinge trim tab system

A transom mounted fluid hinge bracket having one mounting plate that is connected at a lower distal end to a horizontal bracket portion which extends forward and aft of the transom of a watercraft in a bow to stern axial displacement, the horizontal bracket abutting the underside of the hull of a watercraft sitting flush with the underside of the watercraft, at least one fluid hinge receiver secured to the back side of the horizontal bracket portion on which the back of the substantially planar surface of the trim tab may rest, the at least one fluid hinge receiver containing the substantially planar surface in a position of the planar surface resting about parallel to the hull of the watercraft, and the at least one fluid hinge receiver without any load from the planar surface except at rest keeping the planar surface from descending below a horizon parallel to that of a horizon of the hull.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR POSTURE CONTROL TABS OF MARINE VESSEL, MARINE VESSEL, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POSTURE CONTROL TABS, CAPABLE OF AVOIDING CONTACT OF POSTURE CONTROL TABS WITH FOREIGN OBJECT
20210129949 · 2021-05-06 ·

A control system for posture control tabs of a marine vessel prevents posture control tabs from coming into contact with a foreign object. The posture control tabs are mounted on a stern to control a posture of a hull. Actuators actuate the respective posture control tabs. When it is judged that that the hull is being loaded onto a trailer or it is detected that the hull has entered a speed restriction zone, a controller controls the actuators to position the posture control tabs at retracted positions.

POSTURE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HULL AND MARINE VESSEL
20210129954 · 2021-05-06 ·

A posture control system for a hull, and a marine vessel including the posture control system, allows crew members to fish more comfortably and includes a posture control tab attached to a stern of the hull to control a posture of the hull, a driver to drive the posture control tab, and a controller to control the driver. When it is determined that the hull has changed to a fishing mode, the controller causes the driver to raise the posture control tab to a predetermined position.

SURF WAKE SYSTEM FOR A WATERCRAFT

An adjustable surf wake system enhances a wake formed by a watercraft travelling through water. The system may include a flap for deflecting water traveling past the stern of the watercraft, and/or a positioner operably connected to the flap for positioning the flap relative to a longitudinal axis of the watercraft between a neutral position and an outward position. Positioning a port flap in its extended position enhances a starboard surf wake, and positioning the starboard flap in its extended position enhances a port surf wake. A wake modifying system for modifying a wake produced by a watercraft traveling through water may include a rudder pivotally mounted to the watercraft for steering the watercraft, a fin pivotally mounted to the watercraft substantially along a centerline of the watercraft and forward the rudder, wherein the fin pivots about an upright axis to modify the wake produced by the watercraft traveling through the water, an actuator mounted within the watercraft and operably coupled to the fin for pivoting the fin relative to the centerline, and a controller mounted on the watercraft allowing an operator to control the actuator and selectively pivot the fin to a desired angle d relative to the centerline.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MARINE VESSEL, MARINE VESSEL, AND CONTROL METHOD FOR MARINE VESSEL

A control system for a marine vessel that has a propulsion device including an engine. The control system has an opening angle adjustment device configured to adjust a throttle opening angle of the engine, and a controller including a computing device and a non-transitory storage medium containing program instructions. The execution of the program instructions by the computing device causes the controller to judge whether or not a hull of the marine vessel has entered a planing state, set a predetermined mode in which the planing state is maintained, and upon determining that the predetermined mode is set and that the hull has entered the planing state, control the opening angle adjustment device to keep the hull in the planing state even when the hull has decelerated.
