Structural object having substrate surfacially protected and integrally clad with metallic glass sheet
A structural object includes a substrate integrally clad with a metallic glass sheet by adhering, welding or joining the metallic glass sheet on the substrate for a low-cost, flexible and convenient fabrication, assembly, processing or construction of the object.
Active Energy Ray Curable Resin Composition for Use Around Water, Anti-Fouling Laminate for Use Around Water, Method for Manufacturing Same, and Product for Use Around Water
Provided is an anti-fouling laminate for use around water, including a substrate for use around water, and an anti-fouling resin layer disposed on the substrate, wherein the anti-fouling resin layer has a water sliding angle of less than 40, the anti-fouling resin layer has surface energy of 25 mJ/m.sup.2 or less, the anti-fouling resin layer is a cured product of an active energy ray curable resin composition, and the active energy ray curable resin composition includes urethane (meth)acrylate in an amount of from 55% by mass through 80% by mass relative to a total amount of monomers in the active energy ray curable resin composition, with the proviso that the urethane (meth)acrylate excludes urethane (meth)acrylate having a structure derived from polysiloxane.
Submersible sensor unit
As a conventional antifouling measure to prevent adherence of aquatic organisms to a submersible sensor unit, a grease containing a stimulant, such as mustard, capable of repelling aquatic organisms is applied onto a sensing part thereof, thereby preventing adherence of the aquatic organisms. However, the irritant-containing grease applied onto the sensing part will come off within one to two months, resulting in disappearance of its effect. Thus, it is necessary to perform work of pulling up the submersible sensor unit and re-applying the grease, in each case. The present invention provides a water flow resistant submersible sensor unit which comprises an aquatic organism adherence preventive film capable of preventing adherence of aquatic organisms even when used in the submersible sensor unit for about half a year, almost without involving any underwater movement, and capable of, after use, being easily peeled off from the submersible sensor unit.
Boat Hull Protection System and Methods of Using Same
A boat hull protection system for protecting boats from algae and other marine organisms while the boat is tied to a dock, wherein the boat hull protection system may comprise a frame, cable, and an adjustable liner.
System and method to prevent the biofouling of an outdrive
An outdrive engine enclosure having at least one sidewall forming a closed end and an open mouth opposite the closed end is disclosed. The enclosure includes a transom ligature constrictably coupled circumferentially about the at least one sidewall proximate the open mouth, and also includes at least one neck ligature constrictably coupled circumferentially about the at least one sidewall, between the open mouth and the closed end. The outdrive engine enclosure further includes a deployed configuration, where the at least one sidewall proximate the open mouth is constricted by the transom ligature around one of a transom mounting rim and a gimbal housing to form a transom seal that is substantially watertight. The deployed configuration also includes the at least one sidewall being constricted by the at least one neck ligature against the outdrive engine proximate a neck, thereby reducing the volume contained inside the enclosure in the deployed configuration.
Structured gas-containing surfaces
The present invention relates to structured, gas-holding surfaces for improving the friction-reducing properties of gas layers held under a liquid and for the simultaneous suppression of turbulence. The present invention furthermore relates to a device comprising this structured, gas-holding surface and to the use of this structured, gas-holding surface.
Lining for vessel drives
Disclosed is a lining for drives, such as sterndrives, of vessels has a housing that consists of two housing halves. The housing is secured on an adapter plate fastened to the vessel. A seal is provided between the housing halves. A seal that can be expanded by compressed air is arranged between the housing and the adapter plate. The housing halves are connected to one another by use of tension locks. The housing is secured on the adapter plate by use of tension locks. In the housing, a float-controlled bilge pump, from which a line leads to an opening provided in the upper area of the housing, is provided below.
Outer drive protection arrangement
An outer drive protection arrangement is attachable to a marine vessel while not immersed in water. The arrangement comprises a rim portion arranged in contact with at least a transom surface and surrounding at least one outer drive and a protective cover attached to the rim portion and enclosing a volume encompassing the at least one outer drive, in order to provide a protective gaseous environment inside the cover. The environment contained within the cover is circulated and maintained at a predetermined atmospheric condition by means of a source of conditioned gas.
Large Surface Laminating System and Method
There is provided a laminating system (30) comprising a laminating module (200) and a transportation module (100) wherein the transportation module (100) is arranged to automatically drive the laminating module (200) over a surface (10) to be laminated. Here the surface (10) to be laminated is large and maintained substantially stationary. The transportation module (100) includes a retaining means and a drive means. The retaining means resists movement of the laminating module (200) relative to the surface (10) except when the laminating module is driven by the drive means. The laminating module (200) includes an unwind unit (210) adapted to receive a roll of laminate (20). The laminate (20) comprises an adhesive film and first release layer. The unwind unit (210) is adapted to allow the laminate to be unwound from the roll. A first release layer discard unit is provided. The first release layer discard unit is adapted to remove the first release layer from the laminate. The laminating module (200) includes a first pressing unit (240). The first pressing unit (240) is adapted to press the film onto the surface (10). Here, the retaining means is adapted to resist a pressing force applied by the first pressing unit (240) and acting to move the laminating module (200) away from the surface. As the transportation module (100) automatically drives the laminating module (200) over the surface, the pressing unit (240) presses the film to the surface.
