10858082 · 2020-12-08 · ·

A rotary cleaning apparatus for underwater cleaning including a housing, a battery, a motor and a flexible hub system. The flexible hub system includes a toroidal brush system coupled to a circular centrifugal pump assembly. The flexible hub system includes a flexible hub allowing the flexible hub system to bend out of plane. When the flexible hub system is rotated underwater at a curved surface, the brush system cleans the surface while the suction of the centrifugal pump assembly flexes the flexible hub system to evenly contact the surface.

The load arrangement has a carrier (100) and a conductor arrangement (110) arranged on the surface of the marine structure and coupled to one pole of a power source (1). The other pole is coupled to the liquid. The carrier has a back surface (102) to cover part of the conductor arrangement and the surface (30) of the marine structure. A load (20) in the carrier receives supply current from the power source via a front electrode (130) arranged for coupling to the liquid, and a back electrode (120) at the back surface arranged for coupling to the conductor arrangement. The load may be an UV-C LED for emitting anti-fouling light.

Parking position

Various aspects provide for parking an apparatus in a parking position. A parking position may be a configuration of an apparatus that minimizes damage resulting from extended exposure during periods of inactivity. An apparatus may comprise a marine apparatus, which may be configured to be disposed in an environment comprising saltwater, salty air, brackish water, freshwater, and the like. An apparatus may comprise a propulsion system (e.g., for a ship) and/or a steering system. Some aspects include a water jet based propulsion system having a scoop and a nozzle operable to redirect the water jet, providing a range of forward/backward and port/starboard thrusts. A control cylinder and/or a linkage may be parked in a configuration that segregates damage incurred during periods of inactivity to portions of an apparatus not needed for normal operation.

AN ELECTRIC CURRENT SUPPLY SYSTEM, DESIGNED TO BE AT LEAST PARTIALLY SUBMERGED IN AN ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE LIQUID DURING OPERATION THEREOF

An electric current supply system (20) is designed to be at least partially submerged in an electrically conductive liquid during operation thereof, and comprises at least one electrically conductive component (21, 22, 23, 24) enveloped in liquid-tight material (40). The component (21, 22, 23, 24) comprises sacrificial material that is capable of reacting electrochemically with the liquid. Further, the component (21, 22, 23, 24) comprises at least one gas trap portion (50) at which the sacrificial material occupies a space in the liquid-tight material (40) that is thereby defined with a gas trapping shape. If, in case of damage to the system (20) in an actual submerged state thereof, the component (21, 22, 23, 24) gets exposed to the liquid, it is achieved that an electrochemical reaction occurring at the exposed area of the component (21, 22, 23, 24) and an outflow of electric current to the liquid are stopped.

Inspection of grouting between monopile and transition piece on offshore wind turbines

An inspection system may be deployed as part of a routine crew transfer diving (CTV) or service operation vessel (SOV) deployment to perform inspections for analyses which can be conducted while carrying out other inspection tasks. A marinized digital detector array and betatron source may be maneuvered proximate a first detector plate, which can be of a plurality of detector plates and a first exposure generated at the first detector plate which is then used to aid in generating one or more images comprising each such exposure. The images are then reconstructed to identify defects in the grout.
