ANCHORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MARINE VESSELS
Systems and methods for conveniently providing anchoring assistance onboard a watercraft are provided herein. An example system includes a display and a processor in communication with a marine system. The processor is configured to receive marine data from the marine system and/or one or more user inputs and cause the display to show one or more anchoring locations with visual indications of the anchorage quality index based on at least the marine data and/or user inputs. The one or more anchoring locations may be shown as a heat map overlaid on a map. The system may use real-time marine data, environmental data, weather data, tide data, etc. to dynamically adjust the anchoring locations and anchorage quality index. The system may enable convenient and helpful suggestions and notifications to the user when anchoring a watercraft. Some examples provide automatic deployment of an anchoring system and monitoring of a current anchoring.

Navigational guidance for crossing a boundary line
A navigation device is disclosed that provides navigational guidance to boats needing to cross a boundary line at a milestone event time. Port and starboard laylines and guidelines may be displayed with the boundary line using wind direction data. The port and starboard layline angles may change with the wind direction, while their lengths may represent a distance traversed by the boat tacking at the port and starboard layline angles for a target time period at a target speed. A predictor line may be displayed extending from the boat in the direction in which the boat is traveling and may have a length indicating a distance traversed by the boat at its current speed until the milestone event time. The predictor line length and color may provide feedback regarding whether the boat will cross the boundary too early or too late given its current speed and direction.
HULL BEHAVIOR CONTROL SYSTEM AND MARINE VESSEL
A hull behavior control system for controlling behavior of a hull of a marine vessel includes a memory and at least one controller coupled to the memory. The at least one controller is configured or programmed to control a steering that changes the traveling direction of the marine vessel, obtain a water surface shape around the marine vessel, estimate movement of a wave based on the water surface shape, and when it is determined that the hull rides the wave whose movement has been estimated, control the steering so as to reduce an influence of the wave on the hull.

HULL BEHAVIOR CONTROL SYSTEM AND MARINE VESSEL
A hull behavior control system includes a memory and at least one controller coupled to the memory. The at least one controller is configured or programmed to control a propulsion force of the marine vessel using a propeller of the marine vessel, obtain a water surface shape around the marine vessel, estimate movement of a wave based on the water surface shape, and reduce the propulsion force by controlling the propeller when it is determined that an impact force equal to or greater than a threshold value will act on the hull after the hull travels over the wave whose movement has been estimated.

TUNED MASS DAMPER FOR FLOATING STRUCTURES
A tuned mass damper (TMD) system in combination with a floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) platform includes a barge type FOWT platform having a hull configured to have a wind turbine tower mounted thereon. A TMD system is mounted in the hull and has a first TMD configured to operate at a first frequency, and a second TMD configured to operate at a second frequency different than the first frequency.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A TOWING TRAIN
A method for controlling a towing train including a ship and at least one tug acting on the ship, including the steps of: providing a data model, which includes fixed data of the ship and of the at least one tug as well as variable environmental data; determining the current course, the thrust vector, and the inertial force of the ship and specifying a desired travel direction of the ship with subsequent calculation of the correction force vector and correction torque required to achieve the desired travel direction; calculating the required positions, orientations, and drive settings of the at least one acting tug using an algorithm that accesses the data model and generating control commands for the at least one tug such that the sum of all the force vectors and torques of the at least one acting tug corresponds to the required correction force vector and correction torque; transmitting the generated control commands to at least one acting tug and monitoring the completion of the control commands; and conducting an evaluation of the produced correction force vector and correction torque after completion of the control commands and generating and storing correction values in the data model when deviations are detected between the produced correction force vector and the required correction force vector and/or between the produced correction torque and the required correction torque and then repeating certain steps.
