Expandable impeller pump
An impeller includes a hub, and a plurality of blades supported by the hub, the blades being arranged in at least two blade rows. The impeller has a deployed configuration in which the blades extend away from the hub, and a stored configuration in which at least one of the blades is radially compressed, for example by folding the blade towards the hub. The impeller may also have an operational configuration in which at least some of the blades are deformed from the deployed configuration upon rotation of the impeller when in the deployed configuration. The outer edge of one or more blades may have a winglet, and the base of the blades may have an associated indentation to facilitate folding of the blades.
Underwater mask
A diving mask includes a facial body and at least one transparent element which enables viewing and is adapted to overlap the eye area, made by co-molding at least two different thermoplastic elastomers, the transparent element being made from a thermoplastic elastomer provided with a relatively greater degree of hardness, the facial body being made from a thermoplastic elastomer provided with a relatively lower degree of hardness.
SACRIFICIAL YARN FILAMENT FOR USE IN CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITES, METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF AND ARTICLES COMPRISING THE SAME
Disclosed herein is a composite tow comprising a plurality of ceramic filaments; one or more sacrificial yarn filaments; where the sacrificial yarn filaments are operative to undergo decomposition or melting upon being subjected to an elevated temperature; and wherein the sacrificial yarn filaments leave open spaces in the tow upon being subjected to decomposition, dissolution or melting; where the filaments have an average filament diameter of 5 to 15 micrometers.

Kayak with thermoformed hull and rotomolded pedal drive mount
An improved kayak has a hull of thermoformed ABS plastic having a bow and a seat having a void between the bow and the seat, a top of the hull being a deck with a foam PVC block glued to a bottom face of the deck. A rotomolded polyethylene plastic insert is located in the void and joined to the hull by fasteners that pass through the insert and the deck of the hull and engage the foam PVC block within the hull, with caulking between the hull and the insert. A propulsion device is removably mounted in the rotomolded plastic insert that allows a user of the kayak to propel the kayak.

Cockpit covering system and method for skiffs
A cockpit covering system for a small boat comprises a tent or cover comprising a plurality of walls portions, each of the plurality of wall portions having a lower portion and wherein the tent is sized to extend over a recessed area of a cockpit and enclose an interior that extends from above deck height to below the height of a base layer. The base layer is attachable to the lower portion of each of the plurality of walls and positionable around the cockpit outer perimeter. A compressible gasket below the base layer rests on a deck of the small boat around the cockpit outer perimeter. A plurality of webbing straps extend from the outer perimeter of the boat to the cockpit outer perimeter and are attached to the tent covering system. Tension applied to the plurality of straps extending from the small boat outer perimeter to the cockpit outer perimeter compresses the compressible water and/or bug proofing layer to form a seal around the cockpit recessed area. Pole bracket housings may be provided on webbing straps to secure tent poles at deck level at various locations on the deck.
