Described herein is a device for recovering an object from water comprising an object attachment point, for attaching the device to the object, and an inflatable and/or buoyant target mesh element, the attachment point and target mesh element being linked by an extendible line portion which is extendible when placed under longitudinal pressure. Such a Man Overboard Recovery System allows a vessel to remain under proper control in difficult weather conditions when dealing with a casualty recovery situation.

A method for increasing the safety of a person in an aquatic environment including attaching a remote node to a monitee, sensing atmospheric pressure; sensing continuously the actual atmospheric pressure of said remote node; communicating bi-directionally with a base station via RF transreceiver; comparing pressures via microcontroller; signaling a monitee when the comparison yields a result that exceeds the pressure set point, thereby providing the monitee with a predetermined time interval to get back into compliance, else notifying the base station via the remote node of the non-compliant pressure reading and duration thereof via visual indicator and vibrating motor; setting the predetermined time interval by the base station; providing the base station with a deployment means for deploying said buoy means; deploying said buoy means by activating a button on the base station; and sending a message repeatedly from the base station to the remote node to activate the buoy.

An interactive life system for increasing the safety of person in water having a base station configured to communicate with a remote node; the base station having a first controller having a first microcontroller; and a transceiver means; wherein the base station further includes an alert for alerting a monitor, a pager; a NOAA weather receiver; wherein the remote node comprises a second controller, a second transceiver, a GPS, a buoy, a panic button, a pressure transducer, a visual indicator, a vibrating motor, and a mount; wherein the second controller comprises a second microcontroller; wherein the panic button communicates with the base station; wherein the visual indicator includes light; wherein the vibrating motor includes a mechanical indicator; and where the monitee can wear the device on the wrist.

Described herein are inflatable wearable devices comprising: a reaction container having an expandable bladder, a dry powder compartment and a liquid compartment with a removable barrier between the compartments, the expandable bladder being connected to at least one of the dry powder compartment or the liquid compartment, and wherein the dry powder compartment comprises a mixture of an ionic hydride and a borohydride, and wherein the liquid compartment comprises an aqueous solution comprising a foam forming agent, and wherein upon removal of the barrier between the compartments, the aqueous solution contacts the mixture of an ionic hydride and a borohydride, thereby forming hydrogen gas foam.

A life saving apparatus is presented. The apparatus activates an alarm and/or a notification when a person is in distress such as when a swimmer is drowning. In one embodiment, the alarm or notification may include an audio, a visual and/or combination thereof signal or indication that the person is in distress. The alarm or notification may be provided on a device held or attached to the person, at a base station in proximity to the person, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, a locator provides an ability to identify the person in distress when that person is located in proximity to other persons so that aid can be given as quickly as possible.

A life saving apparatus is presented. The apparatus activates an alarm and/or a notification when a person is in distress such as when a swimmer is drowning. In one embodiment, the alarm or notification may include an audio, a visual and/or combination thereof signal or indication that the person is in distress. The alarm or notification may be provided on a device held or attached to the person, at a base station in proximity to the person, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, a locator provides an ability to identify the person in distress when that person is located in proximity to other persons so that aid can be given as quickly as possible.

The present invention relates to a rescue device capable of making multiple rescues in all weather and light conditions and rescuing conscious and unconscious persons, pets, and conveyances.
