Harness for breathing apparatus
There is disclosed a harness for breathing apparatus comprising a structural support member for supporting a vessel of breathable gas, a waist belt, and a pivot joint mechanism coupling the structural support member to the waist belt. The pivot joint mechanism comprises a release part which is movable to decouple the structural support member from the waist belt.
Scuba propulsion appatatus having oscillating fins
In an oscillating fin propulsion apparatus operatively connected to a scuba diver moving on or through a body of water, a propulsive force may be produced by a pair of fins adapted to sweep back and forth in a generally transverse direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the scuba diver's body. The fins may be mounted on opposite sides of a frame detachably secured to a scuba tank. The fins may be rotatable in an oscillatory motion about respective axes coplanar to the center longitudinal axis of the frame. Drive members operable by the scuba diver may be operatively connected to the fins. The oscillating fins may provide a propulsive force to propel the scuba diver longitudinally forward during both oscillating directions of the fins as they sweep back and forth.
Diving harness
A diving harness containing the upper junction connected through the central rail and shoulder straps to the lower junction connected with the hip belt and the crotch strap tied with the buckle, characterized in that the upper junction is permanently connected to the central rail containing at least two layers of textile tapes that are in contact with each other, wherein the textile tape layers are sewn together at regular intervals with back tacks forming through openings between tape layers, wherein the lower junction is permanently connected to at least one mounting bracket, and, wherein the mounting bracket is detachable connected to the central rail via the through opening.
HARNESS-BASED BUOYANCY CONTROL DEVICE
A buoyancy control device having a back panel and including at least one flotation bladder, which at least one flotation bladder is configured with the device for controllable inflation and deflation, and connected thereto a harness arrangement for securing the device to a body of a user, the device having a cylinder-mounting mechanism arranged to enable front or side mounting of at least one breathable gas cylinder is useful for snorkeling and diving or repeated diving from snorkeling. A particularly preferred configuration provides a lightweight device of less than 5 kg and an apparatus of no more than 10 kg whereby carriage to and from snorkeling and/or diving location is simplified.
Continuous weave quick adjust harness backplate system
A system to permit a diver to quickly adjust a one-piece continuous piece of webbing by simply pushing or pulling the webbing in the desired direction. The system includes accessory plate which is fixed to an existing diving backplate, which allows the webbing to slide on through the attached accessories without affecting the location of the accessories with respect to the diver's body. An improved adjustable crotch strap is also secured to the backplate. An ergonomic backplate frame is also disclosed.
Back plate for a breathing apparatus
A back plate for a breathing apparatus comprises a back plate frame for supporting a cylinder of breathable gas; and a pressure reduction valve configured to receive breathing gas from a cylinder of breathable gas; and a resiliently deformable element configured to support the pressure reduction valve on the back plate frame so as to permit relative movement between the pressure reduction valve and the back plate frame.
MODULAR LOCKING CONNECTORS FOR PORTABLE HARNESS SYSTEMS, METHODS AND DEVICES
This disclosure relates to modular locking connectors that enable discrete and fully separate components to be easily, quickly, and interchangeably connected together to result in a fully functional buoyancy compensator device. These separate components may include shoulders, waistbands, back panels, bladders or other buoyancy chambers, pockets including those for ballasting weights, and accessories such as knives, lights, signaling devices and the like.
TANK SUPPORT
This disclosure relates to tank wedge connectors to support cylindrical objects, for example to support scuba tanks, particularly designed for use in underwater operations on swimming and diving gear. An embodiment of the tank wedge connectors includes arranging the tank wedge connectors in an opposing pair, forming a cradle. Another embodiment of the disclosed tank wedge connectors includes a rail component which the wedge connectors can slide on to separate and expand, with one of the rails including detents for the wedges to be positioned and fixed at a desired spacing. A third embodiment of these tank wedge connectors includes being mounted to a flexible surface which allows the connectors to conform to cylindrical objects of varying radii.
CORD CONNECTOR
This disclosure relates to a modular cord connector that enables two cords to connect together and release. An embodiment of this cord connector disclosure is designed for use on cords integral to a gas release on buoyancy compensator devices. The preferred embodiment of this cord connector, shown for use on a buoyancy compensator device, includes modular male and female portions which include a T-shaped post on the male portion and a pathway with detents configured to retain the male portion when engaged with the female portion.
Back Pack Cinch
In one aspect, an embodiment of the invention provides a back pack cinch for a strap securing a breathing tank to a buoyancy compensation device worn by a diver. The back pack cinch includes a cinch body. A cover is rotatably mounted to the cinch body. The cover has an open position and a closed position. The cover in the closed position is configured to tension a strap. A tab is rotatably mounted to the cinch body. The tab has an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, a portion of the strap is pressed against the serrated bearing surface by the tab to hold the portion of the strap in a fixed position.
