Unmanned Air and Underwater Vehicle
An unmanned vehicle including a body and a frame structure extending from the body and supporting a plurality of propeller assemblies, each propeller assembly including at least one propeller and a corresponding motor with the motor housed in a watertight housing or coated and made corrosion resistant. The propellers comprise a first subset of propellers of the propeller assemblies and a second subset of propellers of the propeller assemblies which rotate in a plane positioned below a plane in which the first subset of propellers rotate, wherein said first and second subset of propellers are configured for independent operation of one another as the vehicle transitions from an air medium to a water medium.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR LAUNCHING AND RECOVERING UNDERWATER VEHICLES WITH AN AUTONOMOUS BASE
An autonomous underwater base for handling an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) equipped with seismic sensors for recording seismic signals during a marine seismic survey. The autonomous underwater base includes a storing module configured to store the AUV; an inlet/outlet module configured to control access of the AUV to the storing module; and a control module having a positioning system configured to adjust a position of the base in water. The positioning system autonomously drives the storing module from a first position to a second position underwater.
SEISMIC AUTONOMOUS UNDERWATER VEHICLE
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for the deployment of a plurality of seismic autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) on or near the seabed. In one embodiment, the AUV comprises a buoyant body coupled to a pressure vessel that contains substantially all of the AUV's electronic components. The pressure vessel may comprise a plurality of composite components coupled together by a metallic ring to provide a substantially cylindrical shape to the pressure vessel. The AUV body provides lift to the AUV during lateral movement and compensates for an overall negative buoyancy of the AUV. The AUV may include a plurality of thrusters for propulsion. A vertical thruster may be used to create an upwards attack angle during takeoff and to maintain depth and orientation during flight. During normal flight operations, the AUV is configured to travel horizontally and vertically in a body of water by using only the horizontal thrusters.

Expanding Flow Nozzle
Disclosed are an improved nozzle for an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV), and a method for operating the same. The nozzle includes a first rigid member operatively coupled to a UUV steering mechanism. The nozzle also has a second rigid member, coupled to the first rigid member by a flexible bellows according to a configurable operating angle. The nozzle does not extend beyond a bounding surface when stored but does when deployed. Water traversing the first rigid member and contacting the second rigid member produces a reactive force according to the configurable operating angle. Simultaneous and independent control of the volume of fluid traversing several such nozzles in the UUV, and their respective orientations and operating angles, permits automatic station-keeping or navigation according to another guidance objective.
ROBOTIC MODULAR SUBMERSIBLE DEVICE AND METHODS
A remote modular submersible device is suitable for various subsurface operations in a liquid, such as freshwater, salt water, hydrocarbon(s), and/or chemical(s). The remote modular submersible device includes a chassis and a clamping system in the chassis. The clamping system is configured to clamp the chassis to an elongate member. The remote modular submersible device also includes a propulsion system in the chassis. The propulsion system is configured to propel and orient the chassis in a liquid in which the chassis is submerged. The remote modular submersible device additionally includes a processor configured to control at least the propulsion system.
