SPORTS REACTION TIME SIMULATOR
20180272214 · 2018-09-27 ·

A method and system for testing and improving a user's visual tracking skills and reaction time to a moving object includes simulating motion of an object by individually illuminating LEDs in longitudinal sequence along individually selectable paths having different positional approaches toward a target. A user activates a switch or interrupts a beam with the intent of terminating the sequence in time coincidence with illumination of a designated LED proximate the target. A microprocessor detects the time difference between illumination of the designated LED and termination of the sequence by the user as measure of the user's visual tracking and reaction time. In one embodiment the user is a baseball batter, the target is a home plate and the selectable paths are simulations of straight and breaking pitches.

Device for displaying in response to a sensed motion
12095277 · 2024-09-17 · ·

A device includes a signaling means and a motion sensor, and logic for activating or controlling the signaling means in response to a sensed motion according to an embedded logic. The device may be used as a toy, and may be shaped like a play ball or as a handheld unit. It may be powered from a battery, either chargeable from an AC power source directly or contactless by using induction or by converting electrical energy from harvested kinetic energy. The embedded logic may activate or control the signaling means, predictably or randomly, in response to sensed acceleration magnitude or direction, such as sensing the crossing of a preset threshold or sensing the peak value. The visual means may be a numeric display for displaying a value associated with the count of the number of times the threshold has been exceeded or the peak magnitude of the acceleration sensed.

Combat training equipment

A combat training equipment relates to the technical field of combat training equipment. The existing combat training equipment is not equipped with active attack function, which is not conducive to the trainers to improve their combat level; the new combat training equipment drives the motor to cooperate with the angle box, angle motor, oscillating piece and hanging ball, so as to oscillate at a certain angle. Driven by the angle motor, the oscillating piece can simulate a human arm attacking in the upper, middle, and lower positions. With the help of hanging ball, the trainers can carry out body movement training to improve the reaction capability. The striking mechanism, lamps and speakers on the striking post enable trainers to evade attacks with good coordination. After the trainers make an effective attack, the speakers and lights will give positive feedback respectively, so that the trainers can gradually improve their own strength.

TRAINING BALL
20240293702 · 2024-09-05 ·

A training ball that is operable to produce a different return trajectory versus a projected trajectory when thrown against a vertical wall as an apparatus and method of improving hand-eye coordination. The training ball includes a body that is partially elliptical in shape so as to have circumferential radius that will produce a second trajectory that is different from that of a first trajectory. The first trajectory occurs when the training ball is hurled at a vertical support surface. Furthermore, the second trajectory is the return trajectory. The method of use incorporates steps such as but not limited to tracking the training ball during its travel on its projected directory and its return trajectory.

SMART NET FOR USE IN SPORTS TRAINING
20180236334 · 2018-08-23 · ·

Disclosed are devices, systems, and methods for training a player to hit a ball at a target, an exemplary net for use in such a system includes one or more display elements configured to display a target towards which the player should hit the ball, and one or more sensors configured to detect an impact between the ball and the net, and determine whether the detected impact between the ball and the net is at the target.

Training Equipment for Athletic Skills
20180236337 · 2018-08-23 ·

Sports training equipment for building fundamental skills of ball handling and control. The glove desensitizes the fingertips and causes the player to rely on the deeper muscle sensations for ball control. Weights on the mid-forearm enhance strength training without interfering with joints, and a removable ball cover adds unpredictability to further enhance a player's control and reaction.

Ball tossing apparatus and method

A ball tossing apparatus includes a support frame and a plurality of launch devices fixed to the support frame and arranged in a two-dimensional array. The launch devices include cylinders having a spring fixed therein, with a ball carrier fixed to the spring. The balls are retained in a loaded position (springs compressed) and then upon activation of the launch devices are launched vertically into the air to the sports player. In another embodiment, the launch devices include a rotating lever which is acted on by a biasing member to launch the ball vertically from the cylinder. A method for launching the balls includes the steps of loading the balls into a two dimensional array, and then launching the balls according to a launch sequence. An electronic control system for use with the ball tossing apparatus includes a launch module for launching the loaded balls in the plurality of launch devices according to a launch sequence. The launch sequences can be randomly generated, programmed by the sports player, or retrieved from memory. The launch of the balls can also be controlled remotely.

ANGLED BOARD AND METHODS OF PLAYING THE SAME
20180221742 · 2018-08-09 ·

Exemplary embodiments of an angled board and methods of playing an angled board are provided. In one embodiment, an angled board can be provided having a base portion having a support, a top surface on the base portion having an opening, wherein the top surface is configured to allow a ball to bounce off the top surface, and a slanted board provided proximate to a first end of the top surface, the slanted board being provided at an angle with respect to the top surface. The top surface can have an upper portion and a lower portion, where a net can be provided within a receptacle between the upper and lower portions. One or more ridges can be provided along the upper and lower portions of the top surface that extend upward from the top surface.

EXERCISE TRAINING SYSTEM
20180214744 · 2018-08-02 ·

An exercise training system is provided having a system controller and a plurality of stimulant target units connected via a wireless network to the system controller. Each stimulant target unit has a light source providing light to stimulate a user, a proximity sensor providing an output of a distance between the proximity sensor and an object external to the unit, and means for providing feedback to the user to signal that the unit has been actuated by the user. The system controller includes a program for activating the stimulant target units in a sequence. The reaction by the user to the illumination is registered when the user brings a body part or other object to within a selected distance of the proximity sensor, this distance being programmable by the user.
