20200001953 · 2020-01-02 ·

A trim system for a watercraft has a nozzle pivotable about a trim axis, a trim actuator operatively connected to the nozzle, at least one sensor for sensing at least one operating condition of the watercraft, a control unit electronically connected to the at least one sensor for receiving a sensor input signal indicative of the at least one operating condition. In a first trim control mode, the control unit controls the trim actuator to pivot the nozzle about the trim axis within a first range of trim angles. In a second trim control mode, the control unit controls the trim actuator to pivot the nozzle about the trim axis within a second range of trim angles. The first range of trim angles is greater than the second range of trim angles. A watercraft having a trim system and a method of controlling the trim are also disclosed.

A rotary device (e.g., a rotary jet), power generation system, and methods of manufacturing and using the same are disclosed. The rotary jet includes a central axle or shaft, an inlet configured to receive at least one fluid, and a plurality of radial arms in fluid communication with the inlet, configured to rotate around the central axle or shaft. Each radial arm has a nozzle at a distal end thereof and an arc between the inlet and the nozzle. The radial arms extend radially from the central axle or shaft at least in part, and are configured to rotate when the fluid enters the inlet and passes through the radial arms, or when a rotational force is applied to the central axle or shaft. Each nozzle may have an opening facing away from a direction of rotation of the radial arms or facing in a direction parallel with the central axle or shaft.

Intercooler for a watercraft

A watercraft includes a deck and a hull having a transom, right and left side portions a tunnel, and a bottom portion. An air intake system disposed in the engine compartment and fluidly communicating with an engine includes an air compressor and an intercooler. The intercooler includes a housing having a lower surface extending generally along the bottom hull portion, an upper surface extending thereabove, an intercooler air inlet, an intercooler air outlet spaced from the intercooler air inlet at least in a direction parallel to the lower surface, a water inlet, and a water outlet. An intercooler core enclosed within the housing defines at least one air channel fluidly communicating with the intercooler air inlet and the intercooler air outlet. At least one water channel fluidly communicating with the water inlet and outlet is diathermally connected with the at least one air channel for cooling air flowing therein.
