A locomotion system for use with a virtual environment technology includes a platform configured to support a user, a harness support assembly coupled to the platform and extending upwardly from the platform, and a safety harness configured to be worn by the user. The harness support assembly includes a support halo positioned above the platform and extending about a vertical central axis. The safety harness includes an interface structure moveably coupled to the support halo.

Patient aid devices, particularly for mobile upper extremity support in railed devices such as parallel bars and treadmills
10617906 · 2020-04-14 · ·

Patient aid devices and an associated method of supporting an upper extremity are described and include a mobile upper extremity support for the patient. A support assembly supports a first side of an upper body of the user for movement along a first rail. The support assembly also allows motion of a second side of an upper body relative to the first side.

Mobile upper extremity (UE) supports for use in railed environments: crossover arm design assembly and unilateral UE support designs

A patient aid assembly includes an upper extremity support assembly and a housing associated therewith. The housing slidingly engages a rail and allows relative movements therealong. First and second upper extremity support assemblies are received on first and second rails, respectively. An interconnecting member us hingedly connected to each of first and second housings that support the UE support assemblies.

Lower Limb Training Rehabilitation Apparatus

A lower limb training rehabilitation apparatus, comprising a weight reducing device, a pelvis supporting device, an exoskeleton device, a control system for controlling mechanical movements of the rehabilitation apparatus, and a treadmill used for walking of a patient. The rehabilitation apparatus hoists the upper body of the patient by means of the weight reducing device, then fixes the crotch of the patient to the pelvis supporting device, and fixes two legs of the patient to two mechanical legs of the exoskeleton device. A power source drives the pelvis supporting device to move up and down, so that the patient can move in the vertical direction; in addition, a sliding base of the pelvis supporting device can assist the patient in moving left and right, swinging left and right, and twisting. The mechanical legs and the treadmill together implement arbitrary movements in six degrees of freedom of the patient.

Locomotion therapy and rehabilitation device

The invention according to the application relates to a locomotion therapy and rehabilitation device developed for patients whose locomotion function is either lost or declined due to spinal disorders, orthopaedic surgeries and central nervous system disorders to redevelop and improve their walking ability.

PHYSICAL THERAPY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE

An apparatus and method for physical therapy includes a base structure, a roller table positioned on the base structure including a plurality of free motion rollers, at least one motor and/or and at least one air compressor connected to the base structure, a plurality of powered rollers or a contact plate located within the base structure being in contact with the plurality of free motion rollers, at least one pneumatic block with a pneumatic piston connected to the at least one air compressor and being configured to raise and lower the power rollers and/or the contact plate, a load cell in communication with the apparatus being configured to measure and record a patient's response to the transition of the roller table and/or the contact plate, and a programmable logic controller.

Exercise device providing user defined pedal movements

An exercise device for performing a variety of movement patterns. The exercise device has a pair of linkages, each including an upper link pivotally mounted to a frame and a lower link pivotally coupled to an upper link. A foot support is provided on a distal end of each lower link. A compression link interconnects the lower link to the frame. The compression link includes a shaft coupled to the lower link, a sleeve coupled to the frame and a spring captured between the shaft and the sleeve, whereby the spring provides a resistance to movement of the lower link relative to the frame.

Methods and apparatus for body weight support system

A body weight support system includes a trolley, a powered conductor operative coupled to a power supply, and a patient attachment mechanism. The trolley can include a drive system, a control system, and a patient support system. The drive system is movably coupled to a support rail. At least a portion of the control system is physically and electrically coupled to the powered conductor. The patient support mechanism is at least temporarily coupled to the patient attachment mechanism. The control system can control at least a portion of the patient support mechanism based at least in part on a force applied to the patient attachment mechanism.
