MONOCOLUMN UNWEIGHTING SYSTEMS
An unweighting system includes a frame having a base and a vertical bar extending therefrom. The base is configured to connect to or at least partially encircle an exercise device. A height adjustable cantilevered arm assembly is coupled to the vertical bar at a fulcrum, and the cantilevered arm assembly is configured to receive and couple to the user. A resilient member is coupled to the cantilevered arm assembly and configured to unload a portion of the user's weight while the user is coupled to the cantilevered arm assembly and exercises on the exercise device.
MOVABLE PLATFORM FOR PHYSICAL EXERCISE
Disclosed is a movable platform for physical exercise including: a fixed base; at least one board having an upper surface to accommodate at least one person who must perform a physical exercise or also sporting equipment, the board being connected to the base with the possibility of rotating about at least one axis and/or of moving at least along one direction; an actuator, interposed between the base and the board, configured to impart to the board at least a rotation about the at least one axis, at least a movement at least along the direction, or combinations of these movements; a control unit, operatively connected to the actuator, configured to control activation or deactivation of the actuator to rotate and/or move the board between a reference position and perturbed positions, the control unit generating a sequence of motor interferences that influence the balance of the person performing the exercise.
Apparatus for accommodating a person and for partially limiting the freedom of movement of the person
The invention relates to an apparatus (100) for accommodating at least one person (25) and for partially limiting the freedom of movement of the person (25) accommodated in the apparatus (100), comprising a platform (7a) and a first annular part (13) arranged above the platform (7a) for surrounding the at least one person (25), wherein the annular part (13) is rotatable in relation to the platform (7a), wherein the annular part (13) can be moved up and down in relation to the platform (7a).
Exercise Assembly
An exercise assembly for physical therapy and rehabilitation includes a bicycle and a treadmill. The bicycle has a pair of front forks. The treadmill has a belt that is configured to rotate. A coupler is coupled to the treadmill. The coupler is configured to couple to the front forks. The coupler is positioned to reversibly couple to the front forks to couple the bicycle to the treadmill such that a rear wheel of the bicycle is positioned on the belt. The belt is positioned to rotate the rear wheel such that rotary motion is transferred through a pair of pedals of the bicycle to legs of a user who is positioned on the bicycle.
Configurable water activity board
Embodiments of water activity board 10 that may be configured with several components 210A-H to form a WABS 200, where the components 210A-H may be securely and removably coupled to the board 10 via one or more rail modules 100A-I. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Balance training device and balance training method
A balance training device includes an inverted two-wheel vehicle, a posture detection unit that detects a posture of the inverted two-wheel vehicle, a control unit that enables control of the inverted two-wheel vehicle so that the inverted two-wheel vehicle moves according to the posture of the inverted two-wheel vehicle detected by the posture detection unit and control of the inverted two-wheel vehicle so that the inverted two-wheel vehicle is forcibly moved in an arbitrary direction irrespective of the posture of the inverted two-wheel vehicle, and a position determining unit that determines a position of the inverted two-wheel vehicle. When a distance between the obtained position of the inverted two-wheel vehicle and the reference position is greater than or equal to a threshold, the control unit suppresses the control to forcibly move the inverted two-wheel vehicle in a direction from a reference position to the position of the inverted two-wheel vehicle.
Differential air pressure exercise and therapeutic device
An offloading system for use with a treadmill includes an air chamber configured to be selectively inflated between a deflated condition and an inflated, operating condition, a user seal coupled to the air chamber and adapted to receive a user so that, in the operating condition, at least a portion of the user is received in the user seal and positioned within the air chamber, a pump operable to inflate the air chamber, and a controller configured to determine an occurrence of a loss of pressure in the air chamber and, in response to the occurrence, cause a reduction of speed of a running belt of the treadmill.
HIGH DENSITY EPIDURAL STIUMLATION FOR FACILITATION OF LOCOMOTION, POSTURE, VOLUNTARY MOVEMENT, AND RECOVERY OF AUTONOMIC, SEXUAL, VASOMOTOR, AND COGNITIVE FUNCTION AFTER NEUROLOGICAL INJURY
A system and methods are disclosed for enabling or improving control of cardiovascular and/or vasomotor autonomic functions in a patient having a neurologically derived paralysis or a nervous system disorder.
Mobility assistance device
A mobility assistance apparatus includes first and second frames positioned on left and right sides of a user; a hinge arm mechanism coupled to the first and second frames; and a securing unit or a walking seat coupled to the frames to transfer at least a portion of the user's body weight from the legs and to transfer weight through the user's hip or pelvis to the first and second frame enabling the user to stand or work for an extended period without requiring the user's arms to hold the frame.
PHYSICAL THERAPY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
An apparatus and method for physical therapy is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base structure, a roller table positioned on the base structure including an outer frame and a plurality of free motion rollers, at least one motor connected to the base structure, a plurality of powered rollers located within the base structure being in contact with the plurality of free motion rollers and connected to the at least one motor, a lifting mechanism located within the base structure and connected to the at least one motor and being configured to raise and lower the roller table to transition the apparatus between a first mode and a second mode, a load cell in communication with the apparatus being configured to measure and record a patient's response to the transition of the roller table from the first mode to the second mode, and a programmable logic controller in communication with the at least one motor and the load cell being configured to control the transition of the apparatus between the first mode and the second mode.
