System and method for improving a basketball player's shooting
A launcher passes a series of basketballs to various locations on a basketball playing area. The locations where the basketballs are passed is determined by selection of one or more individually selectable indicia located on an interface. A controller electrically connected to the interface and the launcher is configured to program the launch to pass the basketballs to the locations selected by the user in the order in which the user selects them.
Motion sensing basketball training device
A motion sensing basketball training device for measuring the movement of a user's wrist and/or thumb during a basketball shot. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for an apparatus and system that measures the acceleration of a user's guide hand during a basketball shot. If the user's guide arm accelerates above a threshold value, an alert is delivered to the user. The alert indicates to the user that proper technique was not maintained during the basketball shot. Embodiments of the present disclosure include a wrist worn wearable device and/or an application executing on a smart watch.
Device for automatic sensing of made and missed sporting attempts
A basketball shot counter includes a mounting shaped and sized to connect the basketball shot counter to a portion of a basketball goal having a basketball hoop; a vibration sensor; a processor in data communication with the vibration sensor, wherein the processor is configured to receive, from the vibration sensor, a datastream of vibration sensor readings; determine, from the datastream of vibration sensor readings, that a first basketball shot was attempted without successfully going through the basketball hoop; and determine, from the datastream of vibration sensor readings, that a second basketball shot was attempted and successfully went through the basketball hoop.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING A BASKETBALL PLAYER'S SHOOTING
Systems and methods for facilitating a basketball practice competition between two or more basketball players are provided. A user interface receives a user selection of a subset of pass receipt locations located about a basketball playing surface for an ejector to pass said basketballs to as part of a basketball practice multiplayer challenge for two or more basketball players. A control system receives data from the user interface indicating the user selection and commands the ejector to launch at least one basketball towards each of the pass receipt locations in the subset a first time for a first of said two or more basketball players, and subsequently launch at least one basketball towards each of the pass receipt locations in the subset an additional time for each additional one of the two or more basketball players.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING A BASKETBALL PLAYER'S SHOOTING
Systems and methods for facilitating access to shooting statistics data for a basketball player are provided. A user interface receives a user selection of identifying information for the basketball player and a subset of plurality of pass receipt locations located about a basketball playing surface for an ejector to pass said basketballs to as part of a basketball practice drill for the basketball player. A detector detects passage of basketballs through a rim of a basketball goal to indicate a made basketball shot. A control system commands the ejector to launch at least one basketball towards each pass receipt location in the subset. One or more remote electronic devices electronically store data indicating the player's success in making shots from the pass receipt location in the subset in association with the identifying information.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING A BASKETBALL PLAYER'S SHOOTING
Systems and methods for assisting a user with creating a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement are provided. A detector detects made basketball shots. A user interface receives a user selection of a subset of pass receipt locations for a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement located about a basketball playing surface. A control system receives data indicating the user selection and a number of shots to be made and commands an ejector to launch basketballs to a particular one of the pass receipt locations in the subset until data is received indicating that the selected number of shots to be made are made at the particular one of said plurality of pass receipt locations, cease launching the basketballs to the particular one of the pass receipt locations, and begins launching basketballs to a second particular one of the pass receipt locations in said subset.
Systems and methods for monitoring basketball shots
Methods and apparatuses related to monitoring basketballs are described. In particular, a system for monitoring basketballs may include at least one non-intrusive sensor for sensing motion of a basketball during a missed basketball shot as the basketball travels along a rebound flight path from a basketball goal. The system may also include at least one processor configured to i) generate, based on the sensed motion, trajectory parameters that characterize one or more states of the basketball along the rebound flight path and ii) generate feedback information using the trajectory parameters. The system may further include at least one feedback output mechanism for providing the feedback information to a user.
Protective headgear with display and methods for use therewith
Protective headgear includes, for example, a headgear body that is wearable on a head of a baseball umpire. At least one sensor is configured to generate imaging data that includes a batter in proximity to home plate. A processor analyzes the imaging data to determine a strike zone of the batter and to generate augmented reality data in response thereto. A display device generates a heads up display of the strike zone that is viewable to the baseball umpire during a pitch to the batter, based on the augmented reality data. Other embodiments are disclosed.
PORTABLE BASKETBALL SHOOTING MACHINE
A shooting system includes a collapsible ball capture support adapted to support a ball capture device and a ball return. The ball return detects a ball captured by the ball capture device and returns the ball to a user in response to the detected ball. To return the ball to the user, the system identifies a location of the user with respect to the shooting system, orients the ball return toward the user, and accelerates the ball along a trajectory based on a distance between the user and the shooting system.
System and method for improving a basketball player's shooting
Systems and methods for providing performance feedback regarding a basketball practice session are provided. A user interface associated with a portable basketball launching machine accepts user input indicating a number of different locations at a basketball playing area for the portable basketball launching machine to provide basketball passes for a player to catch and shoot towards a basketball goal as part of the basketball practice session. A detection device ascertains whether the player succeeded in making a basketball goal for each of the basketball passes. A processor receives data from the detection device and generates a representation of a basketball court overlaid with data indicating where the basketball passes were provided and whether said player was successful in making basketball goals.
