Method and various devices and systems directed towards teaching, training and developing a shooter to increase the accuracy of shooting a basketball are provided. The method comprises shooting a basketball with centerline straightness, 43-45 degree basketball hoop entry angle and 11 inch shot-depth. Embodiments of the physical devices of the invention, which may be used singly or in various combination, comprise a centerline-straightness target acquisition portion, a shot-depth target acquisition potion and an arc-angle target acquisition portion that teach, develop and reinforce consistent, accurate basketball shooting. A bracket assembly is disclosed for detachably attaching the device embodiments to a basketball backboard above the basketball hoop rim.

An athletic coaching method and jersey system are provided. The method utilizes jerseys with securing elements attached thereto. Number panels having specific player numbers are secured to the jerseys for use during practice. Scout team players wear the jerseys during practice. Each scout team player has a different number to represent the jersey number of a player on an opposing team in an upcoming game. The method allows coaches to more realistically simulate a game against an opposing team in practice. When the opposing team changes for the next game, each scout team player can continue to wear the same jersey but change the jersey number by switching number panels to represent a different player on the team of the next opponent. Thus, jersey numbers can be changed so that a game can be simulated for any opponent.

A basketball shooting training device for improving shooting of a basketball includes a mat that is positioned on a surface proximate to a basketball basket so that a front edge of the mat is substantially perpendicular to an imaginary line extending axially from a hoop of the basketball basket. A plurality of guidelines is positioned on an upper face of the mat, with each guideline extending linearly from a respective front corner to a respective opposed edge of the mat at a respective angle relative to the front edge. Thus, the plurality of guidelines defines a plurality of angles relative to the front edge. A respective guideline guides positioning of feet of a user so that the user's torso is angled substantially equivalently to the front edge as is the respective guideline. The device promotes proper shot form and muscle memory.

Device And Method For Properly Locating The YardLine Numbers Of A Football Field
A template for properly determining the positions for the yardline numbers of an American-style football field includes a generally rectangular frame having an external perimeter and an internal opening defined by an internal perimeter. The shape of the internal opening, and the corresponding shape of the internal perimeter, is such that for each of the yardline numbers, i.e. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0, the internal perimeter defines a plurality of locations for abutting a corresponding plurality of outer edge portions of the yardline number. With the external perimeter appropriately aligned along one or more lines of the field, the frame can be used to properly locate any one of the six yardline numbers that are needed to properly locate all of the yardline numbers on an American-style football field. This frame reduces the number of templates needed to locate the yardline numbers of a football field, and also simplifies the process of properly locating the yardline numbers.

TRAINING APPARATUS FOR PARTIALLY BLOCKING A USER'S FIELD OF VIEW TO SIMULATE IN-GAME SITUATIONS
A training apparatus for practicing aspects of a sport while the view is partially blocked. A vest is worn by the user that has a pocket on the front. A blocker that obstructs the user's field of view is placed in the pocket. In one approach, the blocker includes a portion in the shape of a human hand and the blocker is set in front of the user's face. As the user moves, the blocker remains in place, continually obstructing the user's view in order to provide the user with an opportunity to work on skills dealing with an obstructed field of view.
