Variable torque motor/generator/transmission
11362611 · 2022-06-14 · ·

The present disclosure is directed to an electric generator and motor transmission system that is capable of operating with high energy, wide operating range and extremely variable torque and RPM conditions. In accordance with various embodiments, the disclosed system is operable to: dynamically change the output “size” of the motor/generator by modularly engaging and disengaging rotor/stator sets as power demands increase or decrease; activate one stator or another within the rotor/stator sets as torque/RPM or amperage/voltage requirements change; and/or change from parallel to series winding configurations or the reverse through sets of 2, 4, 6 or more parallel, three-phase, non-twisted coil windings with switchable separated center tap to efficiently meet torque/RPM or amperage/voltage requirements.

Ship propulsion system and ship

A ship propulsion system provides a first power transmission device that transmits power from an internal combustion engine to a propeller, a second power transmission device that transmits power from an electric motor to a propeller and that is mounted to the hull so as to be able to turn up and down independently from the first power transmission device, an actuator for causing the second power transmission device to turn up and down, and a control device. The control device is configured so as to be able to select a first drive mode in which the internal combustion engine is driven and the electric motor is not driven, and a second drive mode in which the internal combustion engine is not driven and the electric motor is driven. When the first drive mode is selected, the actuator is operated so that the second power transmission device turns up.

SMALL PLANING WATERCRAFT WITH IMAGING DEVICE

A small planing watercraft with an imaging device includes: the imaging device incorporated in the small planing watercraft, and capturing an image of surroundings of the small planing watercraft; and a display device incorporated in the small planing watercraft at a location where the display device is recognizable by an operator of the small planing watercraft, and displaying the image of surroundings captured by the imaging device.

Zero Emissions Marine Engine
20220144402 · 2022-05-12 ·

This is a utility patent application for the design of a large marine engine that is also suitable, in different configurations, for smaller marine applications and many different power generation and transportation applications. The drawings show a ten-cylinder two-stroke engine, cylinders with a 110-inch stroke and 36-inch bore, pistons, connecting rods, and a crankshaft. The pistons are driven by the combustion of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen ignited by a sparking system. The engine is cooled via coolant passages in the block and head and lubricated by three separate lubrication systems. It uses cryogenic fuel pumps, electronic fuel injection, and electronic actuators regulated by a remote engine control unit. It is close to a zero emissions design, with only steam, water vapor, and extremely minute quantities of burned lubricants and trace air combustion products heading up the stack.
