Exhaust pipe coupling
An oceangoing vessel exhaust pipe coupling used to temporarily couple to an oceangoing vessel exhaust pipe. Installation and removal of the coupling only requires a simple mechanism with three translational degrees of freedom and one rotational degree of freedom, thereby enabling remote coupling. The coupling adapts to a wide array of exhaust pipe shapes and sizes. This is accomplished by a unique shape that allows stable and balanced resting position on top of an exhaust pipe as well as a two-chamber configuration, wherein the two chambers are separated by a permeable partition. Furthermore, the unique shapes of the chambers deflect the exhaust gas stream towards the outlet of the coupling, regardless of exhaust pipe style, thereby increasing capture efficiency and extending the life of an attached fabric flexible hose.

Exhaust handling systems for marine vessels and related methods
An embodiment of an exhaust handling system for a marine vessel includes a cap connected to a top end portion of an exhaust stack of the marine vessel to form an enclosure at least partially surrounding an outlet of an exhaust pipe extending through the exhaust stack. In addition, the exhaust handling system includes a collection pipe in fluid communication with the cap such that the collection pipe is to receive exhaust from the enclosure, and a coupling connected to the collection pipe that is to connect to an exhaust cleaning assembly. The exhaust cleaning system includes a tank to receive the exhaust. The cap at least partially defines a first flow path for the exhaust that extends from the enclosure to the atmosphere. The collection pipe at least partially defines a second flow path for the exhaust that extends from the enclosure to the coupling via the collection pipe.

Boat drive
A boat drive including combustion engine located within the hull and a drive unit located outside the hull. The drive has a propeller shaft and an exhaust system with an exhaust duct and an outlet. The exhaust duct connects the engine to the exhaust outlet for carrying away exhaust gases from the engine and cooling water introduced into the exhaust duct. The exhaust outlet is arranged in the propeller shaft. A first exhaust release opening is arranged in the exhaust duct, between the engine and the exhaust outlet, so that during operation, a first fraction of the exhaust gases and cooling water is discharged through the first exhaust release opening, while a second fraction of the exhaust gases and the cooling water is discharged through the exhaust outlet. A device is provided for adjusting the first fraction that can be discharged through the first exhaust release opening.
